I thought the hotel was really charming. The staff were excellent, and the room were comfortable. A bit off the beaten track and a taxi ride to get to Davao city centre, but a lovely location with a great view of the sea and palm trees, very restful.

A room with a view

Bit dated but lovely hotel . Got a room on the back over looking the sea .Only complaint WiFi was very slow to non existent. Young staff very helpful

Not worth the money we paid

Overall not satisfactory experience . IMO Rooms were not up to standards and clean enough for the price. Internet did not work the whole time we stayed. Although we had payed in advance for 2 adults and a child with breakfast included :when we checked out surprise surprise it turned out that breakfast was not included for my child and they demanded extra charge.

character and charm

Hotel with great character and charm. The first room was not so good had a bad smell and termites were eating the cabinets, no refrigerator or kettle. We paid for an upgrade to the Ambassador suite for 1250 php extra per night. It was much better with a refrigerator, kettle and private balcony overlooking the pool and samal island. The pool was not that clean, unsure if the hot tub was operating we didn't use it. The breakfast was good, dining near the pool with great views. The WiFi was spotty at best connected to the router but internet was not available. This hotel could be great with some updates and better maintenance.

WORST

From the conclusion, it was the worst hotel. First, the room size was large, but that was all. In air conditioner, we can not sleep because of the sound of tiller (tank) return. Second, I would like this hotel because there are many worms. (The concept of the resort is right. It is not an absolute hotel.) Third, the hotel receptionist is really unfriendly except the front desk I need another towel so I do not have two in my room. : ( Fourth, only in the WiFi lobby, never in the hotel's own room It is a hotel that should not be used unless it is really local people.

The hotel is very nice located with beach view. Maintenance needed overlooking on the beach side. Rooms nice and big.

Faded glory

Clean entry hallway with nice vintage furnishings, but dirty room with worn out fixtures and old aircon. I love what used to be. But it isnt the sane now bcz minimal upkeep. Price is same relatively to nearby updated hotels, but getting so much less.

Very comfortable place to relax.

It's a great place for an older property. The front desk was very helpful and the 24 hr security guard helps one feel safe. The view from the balcony is nice and the pool is simple, but "cozy" feeling. The staff speaks very good English to the extent I almost forgot I was overseas. Breakfast is simple but delicious! The men climb the coconut trees right outside your room, which is awesome. There isn't really a 'beach' but there are several options near by.) We liked it so much we are thinking about having our wedding there !!

Good enough for the price

We had a good experience at the hotel, starting from the driver who picked us up from the airport. Our room has a nice view of the beach.

They do not maintain the rooms. Sliding glass door at the balcony does not lock.I was moved 3 times due to security on sliding door. My second room wasn't cooling. Management had a tech diagnosed the a/c. His finding was the unit was to small for the room..I was moved a third time and stayed for the remainder of my trip. Breakfast dining took a long time. From the time you ordered to the time food was delivered. Housekeeping did not keep a sharp eye out for linens. I had old bath towels that we're rough to the skin..Also bed linen was put on be with stains. Bath mats were dirty , not changed unless a request was made. My over all experience disappointed.. I will never book another stay on this property..

Beautiful place looking for right presentation

This place has so much potentials but the biggest problem I faced was to direct the taxi drivers to this location. I showed them and told them the name and address on my phone including map but every time I went outside, it was hard for me to get back. Finally, I started telling them to go to the Beach club and I think it was the best way I could make them understand where to go. The room was very spacious and housekeeping service was excellent. However, the kitchen staff was very slow and often did not understand the order. Sadly, even when a pinoy ordered, still they brought wrong stuff. So I think they were either not paying attention or was busy with something else. Very nice and quiet place but I hated the dog barking at the 3rd floor stairs whenever people were going to the second floor. This place has so much potentials but they need to present it right

この価格では満足でした。奥まった所に在り静かなホテルです。 Wi-Fiは余り良くない。ダバオ事態が悪いのかもしれません。インタネット環境はWi-Fiだけのようです。コンピューターもWi-Fiのみで接続です。コンピューターの性能の問題ではありません。

Stay Again

I am planning a return trip and will stay at this hotel again. Old, but yet clean and nice for the price. The staff is just great. Could use dishes and a microwave in the room. All in all I liked it. Building is old and requires much maint. but if your just sleeping and close to everything this will work. I would suggest than when using a taxi make sure there is a meter inside. Got screwed when I arrived at the airport. Should not cost more than 130 Pesos from airport to hotel.

Visit to Chateau Del Mar

The is a very peaceful place, staff is awesome, outstanding for a Filipino hotel. The food was reasonable and low cost. They will need to upgrade and paint in next few years

Vi ble tatt imot med stor glede. Hotell personalet er helt fantastiske. Skal jeg til davao kommer jeg tilbake hit. Prisene er gode og du kommer deg rundt overalt fra dette hotellet med taxi uten og betale for mye. Kort avstand til fantastiske samal island.

“Remotely Romantic but outdated”

If you want a quiet and affordable place away from the city then this is your place. Located in between Waterfront Insular and Pearl Farms docking area. Fronting Samal Island. Easy check -in and out. Free breakfast was good, it is a plated your everyday silog combi. Room was spacious just like a studio condo with small kitchen and dinning area. If renovated with fresh paint and modern linen..this place will rock it! They provide airport pick-up which was a highlight for me. Good enough hotel for it's price.

Nice decor, superb location, clumsy housekeeping

This charming little hotel really has french "chateau'-allures, and is superbly located at a private beach in a coconut grove. On the other hand the cleanliness, maintenance and customer services have a decidedly Philippino flair, and are nonchalant at best (although always with a disarming smile). A pity, because with a little more effort this place could rank as a first class romantic getaway, it has that much potential.
