Our first time staying at The Anchorage and it was everything we'd imagined - the perfect choice for our anniversary weekend!
From the moment we stepped into reception to check in, the hospitality staff went above and beyond! We loved the celebratory champers to welcome us for our stay. Thank you especially to Katrina who made it all happen (so grateful to you for fixing up the room hiccup).
We had the Anchorage Room, Dalton House section first floor, balcony overlooking the marina - beautiful views. Bed was large and comfy, spacious room and very clean. Nice touch with the bottle of bubbly and greeting card awaiting us in our room.
Breakfast was included in our stay and the buffet breakfast was wonderful. Again, the staff at the Galley Kitchen were just amazing!
Highly recommend The Anchorage - we are looking forward to staying here again in the warmer months and also making a booking at the spa!
Breakfast buffet had good choices but bacon not served hot. Otherwise excellent.

Beautiful location with plenty to do, beach, fishing, swimming pools , walking paths. Also within a short drive to Port Stephens. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Staff were so lovely. Great facilities and really well kept. We loved the extra touches in the rooms and daily servicing.
Breakfast was so good. I don't normally like a buffet breakfast but there was a lot of choice and it was good quality too, frequently topped up.
The restaurant service was appalling. The staff were good but the cooks couldn’t cope resulting in long waits between courses. In the morning we were told we only have one coffee machine so you’ll have to wait!! I like my coffee with my breakfast and not 15 minutes after I’ve finished. Shame how the kitchen fails the hotel. After such bad service on our first night we ate out rather than be disappointed.
When we arrived, 7 minutes before checkin, we were told we had to wait until the exact checkin time. When we went back to the desk we were told the systems were down & they could not check us in. I’m not sure why the first young lady felt the need to lie to us.
They accompanied us to our room so we could get into it, however no one ever came back to give us our keys or check us in. I needed to go back down to reception & tell them I still hadn’t been checked in. We weren’t given any information on the facilities, breakfast, etc. I had to follow up on my own to find out about the resort. We did find Justin very helpful and he did his best to help us out.
The resort itself is in a lovely location & the rooms were quite comfortable.
the hotel is very tired needs refurbishing.

I booked two rooms and paid extra for uninterrupted views
received one room as requested the second room had restricted views
Unable to access room before 3pm which I feel is very late in the day.. Had to request hand wash bottle be filled as it was empty..But in saying this the beds and linen was clean
The property, amenities and brunch were world class. Coming from California for our first Australia visit- I was shocked with the overall kindness of the locals throughout our eastern AU journey. The Anchorage property took hospitality to another level beyond what we’re accustomed to in most US properties.
Bravo Anchorage! We will return to Australia - perhaps permanently..?.
