"The Lantern is a very nice hotel with a true boutique personality. The building has been restored with real vision and you can tell a top designer shaped the look. The style is modern and creative. I respect what the team is trying to build and I appreciate the effort from the staff. They deserve success. One thing I noticed and genuinely respected is that the hotel seems to employ individuals who may have unique challenges or special needs. They showed real effort and commitment in their roles. At times you could see certain tasks were difficult, and when situations got a little tense they seemed to get nervous, so I eased up. They still finished the job and that meant something to me, It meant a lot. It showed heart and it showed that the hotel is giving people opportunities, and I admire that. Just know what you’re walking into. This is not a full‑service, all‑hours operation like you’d find in NYC, Miami, Chicago, San Juan or San Francisco. Room service is not a thing, the restaurant opens later, the bar closes early and while check‑in is simple, it’s not going to be the"

"The outside of thr hotel and the area doesnt look great, but once you walk in, it is beautiful, trendy, and welcoming. The staff was excellent. Very attentive and kind, great customer service. The building is old, I get that, but it didnt feel as nice or as "renewed" as the previous reviews made it seem. Our room felt like an after thought, rather than a planned room. And the furniture wasn't great. It seemed very cheap and like it was falling apart. The cabinets, also. The bathroom door was a sliding door that didnt shut all the way, it was way too small for the door space. And while everything seemed like it had been cleaned on the surface, there was a lot of mold in the shower and it seemed like it had been painted or caulked over a few times instead of cleaned well or fixed. The bed was extremely comfortable and seemed very clean, but I just didnt feel comfortable there. The lobby is great for photos. And the staff is amazing. But the upkeep and cleaning needs to be focused on. The location is fantastic and I think it has potential. But some much needed repairs, updates. And cleaning could make thisnplace worth the 5 star review. I noticed some reviews mentioned it was great for couples. Im not really sure why it said that. There was nothing better or worse for anyone, let alone couples."

"Most clean, most friendly, best maintained of all pet friendly hotels we've stayed in. Our room was so clean that perhaps one would not have known it was pet friendly aside from the hardwood linoleum flooring. Definitely recommend."
