"We went for a couples getaway and had a lovely time. The resort is clean and cozy. We stayed in one of the Terrace rooms and it was large and comfortable, although decor and fixtures were dated. The restaurants on site were both good and reasonably priced. Golf was nice - also a reasonably priced lovely 9-hole course. Front desk staff were fantastic. I do wish they had a bigger pool area, and a hot tub would be great too after a round of golf. I was also disappointed that the spa didn’t have RMTs for massage.
We enjoyed driving into nearby Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon for some meals and shopping and walks along the boat locks.
Overall, it’s a relaxed vibe, cozy and clean, although a bit dated, but staff are great and the price is too!"
"The Staff members were lovely and helpful, hard working people. Unfortunately, this building is just too old and decrepit - any work they could do is like putting lipstick on a pig. Add to that, Bikers’ Fest in Bobcaygeon! Every room & parking space was packed with party people & loud music. Not nasty people; just there to party. And…it took 2 Staff visits to get the TV functional. It was an experience!"
"Our stay was good. Sad to say, our bed looked like it had just been remade after the last guest. Our top cover had stains on it, and our sheets did not look clean. When I woke up in the morning to leave, I always take the sheets off the bed to help with housekeeping. Our bedroom sink was clogged, and water did not go down after I used the sink. Without all this, sleep was good. I did not hear any noise from other guests in their rooms or outside. The front desk lady was very nice, the parking was nice, so you were not close to other cars."
"Very occasionally you come across a special place that will stay with you forever. Saucy Willow is that. Beautiful setting and gardens, house that is tastefully and lovingly renovated. The rooms are great, super comfy beds, powerful shower, fridge. Breakfast was plentiful and filled us up (thanks Dave for packaging scones for us to take away).
All the small touches show the care that Stephanie and Dave have for their guests - a fire by the river in the evening, beach towels for after swimming, ear plugs for light sleepers (the only noise is that of the countryside), a game of scrabble in the lounge.
We cannot recommend the Saucy Willow enough - we will be back."
