We stay at the Wild Rose about every time we go to Clinton the visit family unless it is booked. We really enjoy getting together with family and friends at Lucky’s.
The hotel was extremely clean and well kept.
The hotel room we had for 2 nights DID
NOT smell like cigarette smoke at all.
Walk more towards the casino area and you're going to smell the smoke.
We stayed on the weekend. So, breakfast was included As far as "Free" hotel breakfast are concerned, this is one of the best we've experienced.on Saturday and Sunday morning.
All in all, this was a very positive stay for us.
Rooms were clean. Since it’s attached to casino there is a smoke smell when you enter but rooms didn’t smell. It was a good stay for the price and location.
The facilities were definitely adequate. The room was spacious and designed nicely. The bar area was laid out nicely. All of the staff were quite friendly and helpful.
Room was very clean and staff were very helpful. Had dinner in the sports bar. The food was ok. The old fashioned wasn’t. We were surprised by the breakfast. It was a typical motel fare; cold even though in heated serving dishes and same limited selections. The grapes were quite delicious though.
Could not have asked for a better weekend! Felt very comforatble there while also feeling like we were in a "fancyer world" than what our day to day is. Did not want to leave!
The staff is amazing! Our room was huge, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast was phenomenal. My biggest complaint is that even though there was no smoking signs all over, smoking was still permitted. Mainly in the casino but you could still smell it everywhere.
Check in was easy, room was clean. The entire property reeked of cigarettes, including the room I had on the 2nd floor. I attempted to get a cup of coffee from the area near the front desk, it was awful, undrinkable. I looked at the breakfast buffet but from the looks of the "people" in line, I didn't want to chance a communicable disease. I ate off property. The room sufficed for my needs but if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, find somewhere else to stay.
Huge, spacious rooms. Clean and smelled fresh. I loved that the fridge was medium sized and not so tiny. Appreciate a microwave in the room because it’s hard to get some times.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Our hotel room was clean and the bed comfortable. Check in took longer than expected due to a shift change but the staff were very friendly. Apparently Iowa allows smoking in the hotel and casino and even though we had a "smoke free" room, the stench of smoke through out the property was overwhelming. I imagine if you are a smoker, this would be no big deal. The restaurant Lucky's service was slow at the bar, but the food was worth the wait! Prices were reasonable. The show we attended was amazing! Great talent! The casino had plenty of slots and we walked away with more money than what we came with. If there wasn’t smoking allowed within the hotel or casino, I would visit again.

Advertised as included breakfast. IT WAS NOT. Front desk said that’s only on weekends. False advertising. Had to go by the casino to check in and it was nasty smoky. Hotel hallways were also smoky even though it was non smoking area. Amenities were almost non existent. Only one small bar of soap to use in both the wash basin and the shower combined, are you kidding me! It had room coffee, which was good considering there was no breakfast, but the packets for the coffee had a “sugar substitute.” No one at the front desk from midnight to 7am. Not even sure that complies with the fir code. It could be a nice hotel if they weren’t such cheapskates. And this cost $156 on a Monday night. I’ll stick with Holiday Inn Express in the future. At least you know what to expect.
