Title: Worst Hotel Experience – Discriminatory Staff and Unwelcoming Environment
I’ve stayed at several Extended Stay America locations and always appreciated their comfort and value, but my recent stay at the Burr Ridge location was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had, anywhere.
From the moment my girlfriend and I checked in, it felt like the entire staff had already decided we didn’t belong there. We both have tattoos and piercings, but that shouldn’t mean we deserve to be treated like criminals. Throughout our stay, the staff constantly watched us, making us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It was as if they were actively looking for any excuse to get us in trouble or kick us out. One female in particular, seemed determined to catch us doing something wrong, even when there was no reason for suspicion.
The anxiety from being profiled and harassed by the staff ruined what should have been a relaxing week. At no point did the manager step in to address the situation; in fact, it seemed like she encouraged this behavior. I felt like we were being punished simply for how we look.
To be fair, a couple of my friends were caught smoking in the hotel room, but neither my girlfriend nor I were present at the time. Despite this, we were treated as if we were guilty by association, even though we had nothing to do with the incident.
I’ve never felt so unwelcome or unfairly judged at any hotel, motel, or Airbnb. If you value being treated well stay
