I absolutely loved my stay at Fortune River View Hotel. I had a room facing the Mekong and it was beautiful. There is a walkway right out front of the hotel where you can walk, run, or ride your bike and it goes for quite a ways. I had dinner in the restaurant and not only was the food good, the portions were quite large.

It did a job

We only stayed here for one night, the view from the bedroom and the balcony was lovely. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The hotel was very quiet so we chose not to eat in the restaurant. We found somewhere to eat in a short walk of the hotel. Breakfast starts at 7 am they were prompt starting. There was a selection of cereal toast fresh juice, tea, and coffee as well as Thai dishes. We finished breakfast with some fresh fruit. We did try to hire the bicycles they have unfortunately most of them were not functional. We arrived into Chiang Khong by bus and it was a short walk to the hotel. We were then picked up directly from the hotel so it’s hard to say the location was good but we were happy.

I had a room overlooking the Mekong which was great. The staff were very nice and the hotel is in a great location. The wifi is not great, I was told you should only connect one device at a time to the wifi, this is not really feasible if you have multiple devices.

The best part of the hotel is the view along the river. Beautiful sunrises and gorgeous sunsets. The room was clean and restaurant was okay, but not great. The wifi was not great, so even checking messages required you too use your own data or go to the lobby to connect. The staff were helpful, if not always able to understand what you were asking for.

A lovely appointed hotel overlooking the Mekong river.Comfortable clean bedrooms with lovely decor.Buffet breakfast with good choice of dishes.Would highly recomend this place.

Modern clean hotel

Staff were extremely helpful. Our room was clean and modern with a small balcony overlooking the river. Reception staff were able to answer all our questions and the hotel is close to the main area and bus stops.

We were so lucky to book at this hotel as it had magnificent views of the River. We had a fabulous time and the hotel itself was so beautiful and all the staff just lovely and helpful. They were always very pleasant.

Great position next to river, and good for the whole town no distance to anything. Comfotable airy rooms with everything you d expect from a 4 star. Breakfast very good especially the Thai oprion.

The room was great, great bed, great view. The staff were sweet. The food in the restaurant however was overpriced and not so good. Had better street food. But overall had a great stay.

Sunrise at the Mekong River.

This is a very nice property, located on the shore of the Mekong River. The on-site restaurant has good food and cold drink. We needed a hotel for our morning departure to take a slow boat down the Mekong River, and this was perfect. The balcony room, and sunrise over the river is enchanting. Highly recommended.

Good hotel for one night stop before heading on

Large functional hotel next to river . Lovely views at sunrise and sunset over the Mekong . Room large , clean & comfortable. Swimmimg pool looked dirty so didn't use. Communal areas looked tired . .Breakfast fresh. No food available at restaurant in evening , so walked a short way upstream along riverside to first local place called Rim Nahm and excellent local food there!
