We didn’t stay at Le Cheval Blanc as it was closed for holidays, Hotels.com advised of a nearby chambres d’hôtes and we stayed there ‘Au clos de Charny’ which was lovely, our only problem was our room was up two flights of steep stairs. Exactly what we needed except for the fact the city centre was a 30 min walk away, so wouldn’t be an issue if you had a rental car. There a shopping centre around the corner that was very useful
