Disliked: Staff & service
We was late to check in by 20 minutes and they wanted to raise rates to over 200.
We had already spoke with a lady and stated was at Knoxvolle Speedway and would we there as soon as the race was over
We loved the suite we stayed in. There was plenty of room for our family of 6. The staff was helpful and friendly and we look forward to making this an annual destination.
What a fun place to stay with the family for a quick weekend getaway. Book through Country Cabins website for cheaper rate. Be aware of dog fee and only up to 20 lbs. Not all themed rooms are in separate cabins; we stayed in main lodge in Harley Suite and the kids had a blast! Small town charm for sure!
The cabin had everything we needed and very nicely decorated. It looked like it was brand new! The bed and couch were so comfy! The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We will definitely return soon! Sooo relaxing!
It was quiet an remote. The rooms were cleanly and fully stocked all the utensils you would need while ataying away from home. Limited parking available was a problem with having a boat or a truck.
The room was nice but didn't realize that the room I reserved was in the motel and not a cabin. The description is very misleading. Also reserved a room for two people, but was told that I had to pay an additional $15 for a second person. Buyer Beware!! Hotels.com price is for one person only, even if you specify there are two. Be prepared to pay $15 for each person you have with you. Had I known that, I would have probably chosen to stay closer to our final destination, instead of driving a bit out of the way for something I thought was going to be a fun experience for myself and my daughter. Beds are comfortable but noisy with every move. Rooms are quiet and shower water was fine.
We arrived late, so we didn't get to see how beautiful the spot was until the next morning. The room was wonderful! It was more like a (rustic) apartment than a motel. The owner was very friendly, and spent several minutes chatting with me about local history, interesting places we might want to visit etc... This visit was just a quick stopover for us, but I really want to go back and spend a couple days.
It was so nice to get to the motel after a long trip and walk in to such a huge space and the A/C on high. We will for sure stay here from now on when we are in town.
Upon check -in, I was told the amount of my stay would be 78$. Online it was 63$ for two people. When I asked why he stated I only paid for one. I advised him this is not what I reserved online. He stated Hotels.com is wrong. After checking in I seen a sign that said no pets. When asked he stated this is correct. Again, I stated Hotels.com stated this is a pet friendly hotel. He stated oh yes we have pet friendly rooms but they are 150$. I went out to my car to think about what to do and unfortunately the animals had locked the door with keys in the ignition. The hotel clerk was nice enough to let me call roadside. Roadside did not come for 2 hours. The hotel clerk stated he would talk to Nick the owner about our situation. After discussing our situation with owner he declined to give us a discount on a room. Hotel was empty. Let me remind you this is a small town and my options of finding elsewhere to stay are very limited. Oh when I did ask about the Hotel 8 in town, the clerk answered, "Oh you dont want to stay there, they are Indian". My boyfriend is Indian, so I found this very insulting. Another guest told me it was not a good hotel. The sun is setting, I am alone with my child, in a town where I know no one, and I just spent to hours waiting for roadside. They did refund me which was nice considering everything I expected them to be was incorrect. We ended up having to return home an hour and half a way. What happened to help thy neighbor.
The Country Cabin might be a slice of paradise, but I believe that isn't what I received. I was a little deceiving when I booked, because I expected to get a cabin, and instead I got a "cabin" like room, in a house that had been transferred into suites. The cabin itself was clean, but the floor was a little gritty when walking without shoes. Pack your soaps and shampoos etc. As there was bar soap, but no shampoo/conditioner. I also had to pay an additional $30 for my guests, which I wasn't expecting. I booked because it was an affordable cabin, but for the price I paid, I could have stayed in a much nicer hotel. So do your homework before staying at the Country Cabins.
