This is a steal for an out of the big pricey motels. It was clean, it may be an older motel but for an overnight stay it was welcoming. If your not an socialist or feel like your way above the commoner it's a great place to rest your head.

The room we had in this gem of a bargain motel was spotless, quiet and comfortable. The wifi was slow and somewhat sketchy, but everything else was fine. We would stay here again.

Preface: I am not a complainer, but I do expect somewhat clean and usable rooms when I travel. Made the trip to Chadron to see my college student, I read reviews about this place saying it looked rough on the outside, but clean, comfortable, no frills rooms, so I gave it a chance on a weekend where my normal hotel was full. The first night, I crawled into bed and the bed sunk in the middle, so bad I could not sleep in it. It was late and the office closes at 11, so I had to suffer through. The smell did not scream CLEAN to me,but I did not see anything visible. I asked for a new room or a refund in the morning, and was offered a different room. Checked it out, beds were at least usable. When we returned that night, the AC had kicked on during the day and it smelled awful. I can't afford to lose/burn $300 for another hotel room, so I got disinfectant spray, opened windows and made it through the night. Left a day early because we couldn't take another day and I couldn't afford the $200 rooms that were available in town without getting a refund on this one. I have no idea how this hotel has even a 5/10 rating. Next time I will spend the extra money, don't stay here.

A room for 3 nights pre-paid and said you only wanted 2 upon check-in! No other guests have complained about that room or any other rooms that you claim. Heavier people have issues and odors of yourself. You exaggerate and should of kept the 4 cents.

Better than it looks from the outside
Stayed at the Hotel Grand for the Chadron Marathon put on by Mainly Marathons. Motel is older, and the exterior appearance wasn't encouraging, but the room was clean, comfortable and everything worked.

It was a nice stay The motor inn is retro but is very well cared for. It was nice to be able to hop out of the car with my bag and walk a few steps into a room. I had to go back to office multiple times for questions, ice, and locked myself out and the woman at the front desk was always pleasant. It was nice to support a working family and not a corporation.

Hello...Steve last name? If you were the vapor that rented a room here had to wash all bedding/laundry and shower curtain and air out the room and ionize the room for several days!!! These are to be NO SMOKING or VAPING rooms!

Only grand in the owners mind
Grumpy reception who demands to lecture all room occupants about her no smoking pilicy to people who do not smoke. If you want you to go back to the happy days era with the original bedding, carpet, and pink tile bathroom, this is your place. No night stands, electric plugs, few towels and no room temperature control. Smoke alarm comes on and stays on long after the shower is done.

*Policy...Non-smoking rooms is told to every guests but some still smoke against rules! Outlets behind beds for phone chargers. A/C is on and cool...Plenty on towels in the rooms, if need more call the office.

Very basic
Motel Grand is an older motel with very little updates or amenities. Very basic. Small tv with very few channels, old microwave, no temperature control in the room and not a very comfortable bed.

My room deposit US$150 was not refunded. I was given quite a rude intro about not smoking or I’d be ejected. Assured the manager I do not smoke. About an hour after I arrived, the manager rang my room and accused me of smoking in my room because I left my door open. The A/C was not working. Was told to shut my door and stop smoking or I’d be ejected. Open door would effect the A/C. I tried to say I was not smoking and the A/C was not working. Manager would not listen. I do not smoke. Never have. No damage was done. Also the power stopped during the night. When I left the office was closed (despite being advertised it was open) so I couldn’t tell the manager what had happened and ensure I got my deposit back.

These are non-smoke/non-vape/non pipe/non cigar rooms. Your smoke lingered into all the rooms and the office…central a/c. Had to air out your room & wash ALL bedding & ionize that room for 2 days!

There is very limited A/C controlled my the manager in the office. She turned off the air when it was 106 outside. Must have been 90 in the room. The flies were so bad I had to buy fly strips at Walmart. She called my room and accused me of smoking. She charged me $150 for smoking in my room. I don’t smoke. Manager tried to come into my room with the do not disturb sign on the door. My wife was sleeping. She didn’t knock first. Just tried to come in. She called my room and accused me of smoking and when I confronted her in the office. She threatened to call the police. I told her please do, now. She sent an air freshener bomb through the A/C vent system. We could hardly breath when we got back from dinner. This place is nothing but a money grab. Expedia rate booked a year early was $90 better then what she was charging. I think she wanted us out so she could rent it. The manager is a scum bag and this place should be shut down.

You rented 2 rooms and your friends smoked/vape/pipe smoke was in the room and you could smell it in the office. These are suppose to be no-smoking of anything in the rooms! Vent returns are in the room and scum smokers should smoke outside only! Second hand smoke is horrible to breath in and causes coughs and headaches and vomit from scum people that smoke indoors! You are not welcomed to rent from here you spread lies and talk bad about this wonderful motel. Rooms were checked to see where the smoke was from and as manager we have right to check rooms that disobey! Btw the outside vent is for attic only and not the room so smoke was from your friends room! People that smoke or allow smoke in the rooms are the problem. Second hand smoke is bad for health!!!

The room had a separate living/dining Space in addition to the sleeping area. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Mattresses could be updated and there were very few electrical outlets for our electronics. Had an eight plug extension cord at another hotel and it filled the bill very nicely. Great place for the price and the location was very good for us in our travels.

The central a/c & heat air flow control is adjustable at the ceiling vent. Basic cable channels covers all the 22 major ones. Most people are pleased with the room. Any concerns can be mentioned at the office including lost cell phones!

When I first got there I thought it was a cute little room in an inexpensive, no nonsense setting. The longer i stayed the more I found lacking. The faucet in the bath/shower did not work properly. Much water was wasted coming out the lower spout while the shower was engaged. Adjusting the temperature of the water was impossible. It was also impossible to adjust the heat individually in each room. I was cold. The only coffee available was instant. I wish I had paid more and been more comfortable. I was very cold and my shower was difficult at best.

Nice if you let us know of any issues at the office. The water temperature is easy and no problem. Can have a plumber here to fix water flow. The instant coffee...is Folgers and coffee creamer and sugar also available!
