I stayed at Dreams Karibana Cartagena from July 26, and unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating and unacceptable.
From the moment we arrived, we encountered cleanliness issues in our room—unpleasant odors, dusty furniture, dirty mirrors, and a general lack of maintenance. The kids’ pool area was slippery and filthy, with no signage, nearly causing a dangerous fall for my pregnant wife.
The restaurant service was slow and inconsistent. Staff often ignored basic requests, and we had to serve ourselves coffee most mornings. Traveling with a toddler, we were surprised that high chairs were rarely offered or even available, making every meal unnecessarily stressful.
One particularly appalling moment was when my daughter accidentally dropped my burger, and the staff simply brought back the same burger with sand still on it. The manager insisted it had been replaced, despite clear evidence to the contrary.
We also missed our scheduled shuttle to the walled city due to poor communication. I was promised a confirmation call before 3 PM—no call came. When I followed up at 3:03 PM, I was told the shuttle had already left. The manager was dismissive and blamed us for the misunderstanding.
We came here for rest and quality family time, but instead, this trip has been filled with stress and disappointment. I cannot recommend this resort and strongly urge management to review their training, communication, and service standards.
