Short notice trip, hotel was very quiet, staff were super accommodating with breakfast times due to business arrangements, beautiful location and good food.

A lovely place to,stay

A very enjoyable place to stay, with lots of character indoors and beautiful gardens. Breakfast was hot when served, which was nice. Enjoyed it.

Lets blame Covid

I can see this being exelent. But unfortunatly covid has taken its toll. Breakfast is not included and costs £15.00 each. (True value about £7.00 would be fair no jams marmalade. Disappointing. I booked here on past reviews had i seen reviews about current times i would not have booked. Stayed 2 nights only because it was non refundable.

Avoid this hotel!!

This was an awful stay. Firstly, the hotel is tired and the rooms are very basic. They are not what you expect from a supposed ... * hotel! The food had to be ordered 24 hours beforehand and it was over priced. The bar was not open and when we arrived, there was not a friendly welcome. Rather, we were treated rather bluntly and rudely. Secondly, the milk was off in our room and when we complained, we did not even get an apology. Breakfast was provided in the room and was very basic. Finally, I was overcharged at checkout by nearly £400!!! When I complained, I was refunded but left without our money for the entire weekend (due to the length of time it takes to come through to my bank account). No apology was forthcoming and the whole experience was upsetting and acutely disappointing. Do not stay at this hotel, it is very poor.

Fairytale castle

Amazing space with gorgeous gardens. A fairy tale castle. We had to climb a stone staircase to get to our room!! You can see why it's a wedding venue.

Great stay, away from town/crowd

The hotel is situated outside Dalston (short drive to Carlisle if you need any groceries/fuel/dining) in a quiet area, has ample green space and nicely maintained gardens. Rooms were clean and size alright (average sized) and had all amenities like coffee/tea/kettle, toiletries, etc. Checkin/out was smooth. Bed was comfortable. 45min drive to Lake District - so that's doable as well.

Warm and welcoming

Really enjoyed the stay here. Staff went above and beyond for there customers nothing was a bother. fantastic customer care Hotel was warm throughout. Beautiful rooms and very clean. Will Definitely stay again.

Rural mini hotel in gorgeous historical house

Fantastic mini hotel in a great rural setting. A very historical house with only 13 rooms the ones we saw were very nicely appointed and decorated. The staff were all very friendly, knowledgable and helpful. The evening meal was superb and breakfast of a very good standard.

Bed was rock hard, no box springs (just slats). Four poster bed was falling apart. Unable to read with 3 Watt reading lights! One staff member was reception, porter, waiter and bartender. View from patio was large Neslte factory.

A very nice secluded area for a historic building and let's you have the air of being away from all noises and hustle of main stream life.
