Great place to stay especially for visits to boulders beach, cape point, and Chapman’s peak drive. Hosts were extremely helpful and rooms were very well furnished. Highly recommend this accommodation.
The hostess, Sharon, was absolutely amazing. She was kind and informative. She was always helpful and available when we needed anything. The property itself was stunning, our room was beyond anything we had imagined it would be. I would have to say that the overall experience was by far better than staying at a 5-star hotel. It was intimate, personal and I am still left feeling speechless.
This was a beautiful property with stunning ocean views! Frank and Sharon were lovely and very helpful. The location was great; we only wish we could have stayed longer😊
Property is beautiful and right by the bay - a bit of a hike from the penguins and Simon’s Town, but definitely walkable. All of the staff is very friendly and gave us great advice on things to do. The breakfast is fantastic!
Excellent B&B along the coast road at the end of Simons Town. It’s just across the road from the ocean, so that’s good at night when there is almost no traffic on the road, but a bit load during the day when lots of cars and tour buses pass by on the way to Cape Point. Lovely gardens, common space and a nice, but small, pool. Would definetly stay here again if I find myself in the Cape Town area.
We have been staying there for 4 nights and we need to say Sharon is a great host and very polite, sweet owner of the house. However our room was supposed to be „luxurious” and the property „just at the beach” which it was not. The rooms were clean with nice sea view, there was literally only one plug we could put in the charger, there was no AC(!!!) which is essential especially during summer. The breakfast was everyday the same and consisted of small fruit salad with yoghurt and some cheese with ham. The property is situated just at the main road with all the buses and cars going to and from the Cape of Good Hope, so it can get very noisy day and night, especially when you lay down at the „infinity pool” overlooking the road in the first place. In Simons town there is nothing to do, especially all the restaurants and bars close at 4pm during the week, so there is no chance of grabing sth to eat for dinner without leaving the town. We decided to stay here instead of Camps Bay or Clifton and it was a mistake, those areas are far better than watercolours house. We expected more for this price, value/money ratio very poor and a lot to improve. Don’t be mistaken by the word „luxurious” - it’s not. We stayed at other guesthouses in SA before and this one was the worst.
Beautiful views and Sharon was a wonderful host. She was always on hand to offer suggestions and advice, made a lovely breakfast every morning (the freshly made blueberry muffins were divine) and made us feel very welcome. Our room was clean and had a stunning ocean view. It was also conveniently located close to Boulders beach, Cape Point and Simon's Town.
We would highly recommend this wonderful guest house.
This guesthouse was our last stop before heading back home. We were the only guests staying that night and it was a stay to remember. The house is absolutely gorgeous and feels very homely and personal. The room was very spacious with a very large bathroom and a great rain shower. The whole house is beautifully furnished and maintained and the decoration is following the theme of "Watercolours". The view is straight onto the ocean where you can see the sun rise in the morning. Sharon, the host greeted us in the morning with a huge breakfast buffet (fruit salad, toast, granola, avocado, cheeses, nuts, quiches, croissant, jam, honey, juice, tea, coffee,....) and she was great to talk to and told us about the history of the house. The guesthouse is only a short drive from the center of Simonstown and close to Cape of Good Hope. Secure parking is available and wifi connection is good. Bed is very comfortable and a big fridge is in the room. Definitely a place that I can highly recommend.
Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. Pool literally overlooks the ocean and is the perfect place to unwind. Beautiful room with everything you need and again a view right over the ocean. Sharon is so welcoming and serves up the most delicious breakfast.
A true Privilege to experience SHaron’s hospitality combined with Gary's taste in design and furnishings. A convivial gourmet breakfast with other guests topped it all off. Quite amazing, actually to have had this privilege.
Watercolours is outstanding. The position, decor, spacious spotless rooms, pool, breakfasts and above all the wonderful Sharon to welcome and who goes to endless trouble to advise on restaurants, places to visit and provides maps. We rated Watercolours by far the best B and B we stayed in during our holiday.
Fantastisch verblijf gehad, uitzonderlijk goed verzorgd ontbijt, prachtige locatie, gastvrouw is zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij!

we loved our stay very much - a piece of heaven on earth with perfect hospitality. Small, but very personal guest house with a beautiful view on the water and yummy breakfast. Would definitively stay there again!
We stayed at Watercolours for one night and were welcomed warmly by the host and shown to a room with a spectacular sea view. The room was very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was great, served around a comunnal table encouraging travellers to chat and share stories!
