Delightful stay at beautiful guesthouse

Our stay in the Upstairs Room was delightful. Very spacious and cute room with a massive bathroom. The guesthouse is a beautifully restored old house. Our host Peter was delightful and set forth some amazing breakfasts and good conversation. Very central, within walking distance to restaurants, Loop street, the Gardens and a ton of other things to do. Highly recommended and we’ll be back!

Great place to stay in Tamboerskloof

Maureen and Peter were excellent hosts. The room very clean and comfy and the spotlessly clean. The ned is fantastic for walking around, lots of restaurants and shops nearby and very safe to walk around even at night. Maureen and Peter are very lovely and incredibly interesting to talk to about their life travels.

Excellent Hosts!

Maureen and Peter were excellent hosts. Things to do and places to eat that they recommend were all spot on. Great conversations and breakfasts were simply superb. I’d come back in a heartbeat (if it weren’t 20+ hrs away by plane)...😎 but time will tell.

Gorgeous house, good location within walking distance of centre, and a few steps away from cafes / restaurants, groceries store, great hosts with good recommendations. Best breakfast we had on our 10 days trip. Would definitely go back

Maravilhoso!

Escolhi este hotel, após ler os comentários em vários sites de OATs e agora posso confirmar que Gilmour Hill é realmente um charme. Na verdade se trata de uma pousada, estilo boutique, que funciona numa casa, de arquitetura inglesa. O bairro é super sossegado, mas dá para ir caminhando até a rua mais movimentada da Cidade do Cabo: Long Street. Não tem nada que eu não tenha gostado sobre este hotel. Os donos do local são um charme, Maureen e Peter são super atenciosos e prestativos. Os cômodos são super charmosos, meu quarto era um mimo, parecia que eu estava na casa de uma tia caprichosa, cada cantinho do quarto tinha um detalhe: colchas bordadas à mão, livros por todo canto, decoração fofa. E o café da manhã é uma delícia, especialmente preparado para cada hóspede, e enquanto você se delicia com os quitutes, aprecia uma foto da Maureen ao lado do Mandela. Sério, este lugar é muito fofo e eu voltaria lá certamente. Aliás, tenho vontade de voltar só para ficar em Gilmour Hill!

Nice place close to the center of town.

We stayed 3 nights, and were able to walk to most of the locations that we wanted to go to. The Garden Market, and Long Street are close enough to walk to. Our hosts were great. They made every effort to make us comfortable, and gave us advice on what to do, and how to get there.

Perfect home away from home in Cape Town

Booking 11 nights at Maureen's B&B was the smartest move I made for this trip. Her home is a comfortable 19th century house with spacious accommodation and delicious homemade breakfasts every morning. I stayed in the Red Room and was delighted by its large size, beautiful bay window, fireplace and small but very clean and functional en suite bathroom with shower. Maureen and her staff member Gwyneth took great care of me and I felt well-rested and well-fed during a busy trip that involved attending 15 shows at an international theatre festival. Each evening, returning to Gilmour Hill was a pleasure.

Great home from home in Cape Town

This is a very laid back and relaxed b and b. The room was large and comfortable, although the bathroom was fairly small (but brand new). Breakfast was excellent. The host, Maureen, is lovely and full of great advice. We were very happy at Gilmour Hill.
