"Stayed here for one night (24/4/26). It was good value for money as far as I’m concerned. The Greyfriars Lodge is very old but it’s clean. We were very happy with the location. 10 min walk from Canterbury East Station. 4 min walk to Marlowe Theatre the main reason we came to Canterbury. 4 min walk to Butter Market and the Cathedral. The room we had was spacious and the staff very welcoming (Sanjeewa). If you’re looking for modern place to stay then this Lodge isn’t for you. We like to support small businesses."

"The hotel is comfortable , staff attentive and the room was spacious and quiet. I bought and paid in advance for a continental breakfast which I assumed would be a bit more than one bowl of oats, an orange juice and a coffee. Any refills were charged extra as were fruit, toast or croissants. It all seemed a bit mean and I don’t think anyone from ‘the continent ‘ would have recognised this as being ‘normal’."

"Great location and good quality hotel"

"Safe and quiet. 5 minute walk to shopping and restaurants. 10 to 15 minute walk to the cathedral. Hotel has a nice restaurant in it."

"Parking was great! They even let us leave our car after we checked out while we walked to the cathedral."

"When we checked in the Climate Control was not working correctly and the staff moved us to a new room. The problem was that the room had no climate control either and it was absolutely freezing in the room. The hotel staff was nice and admitted they were having problems with climate control system and said it would be fixed on Monday which is was not. The grout around the tile in the bathroom was missing and the shower hose separated from the shower head. The hotel did repair the shower on the Monday, however, Monday, it happened again. The hotel was a nice property but just need a little extra TLC."

"Helpful staff, parking excellent and they didn’t mind the car being left for the day we checked out. Canterbury in walking distance ."
