Fabulous castelleto, large rooms (self contained - kitchenette, living room, bedroom). Property is very well maintained. You need a car to get around but lots of things to do in the Tuscany area ... vineyards and wine tasting, sightseeing. Lots of restaurants (and some really good ones) nearby. Loved it!

If your looking for relaxation, quiet, peacful, rustic beauty, then this place is it. Situated at the top of a mountain, in the chianti region, in a 1200 century old fort turned into a quaint little village, you will find this gem. There is one restuarant that only serves dinner (which are absolutley amazing). No stores, no hustle and bustle. Adorable apartments with a yummy welcome basket. A pool with a breath taking view. Short distance to Siena, san Gimignano, and many other tuscan cities. Ambra is a 10min ride to restaurants and stores, including Pretsi shoe warehouse! Perfect central location. Marco the owner is a wealth of knowledge, very welcoming. We greatly enjoyed our 5 night stay and look forward to returning. We cant say enough good things about this place. So worth the visit. 1/2 hr to Siena, less than 2hrs to the coast, 1.5hr to Florence. This is a must for anyone who enjoys the country!

Heaven

This is the most exquisite stay in Tuscany. The host is a Renassaince man himself. As you wander thru the common rooms you are surrounded by the most eclectic perfect mix of traditional and contemporary art. The rooms are large, the pool divine and breakfast large and delicious. There is one restaraunt in town for dinners and it was very good. Bring picnic supplies from the grocery for making your own lunch pool side. Heaven away from home!

A Tuscan jewel.

We stayed at the casteletto for one night and wished we had another week here. We were very warmly welcomed by Marco. He had kindly made a rdinnerveservation for us at the local osteria, where we enjoyed one of the best meals of our Italian trip. The casteletto is located in the heart of Tuscany amid olive groves and forest where wild boar still feast on mulberries when they drop to the ground. The facilities include a magnificent garden with a pool, a separate gym building with four walls of glass to take in the views, and extensive well tended gardens. The building itself contains one of the most balanced and interesting collections of antiques, furniture, paintings and objects d'art we have seen in a hotel. We took several hours exploring and appreciating the interiors. Also of note are the beautifully stuccoed walks with hunting scenes and other romantic and classical imagery. We were invited to pre dinner drinks in the drawing room where there was an extensive selection of drinks and some local delicacies to enjoy. We met some of the other guests and Marco was a gracious host, translating conversations so that everyone was included. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, the bed was very comfortable. We had a lovely view to the Tuscan hills over moss covered terra cotta roof tiles. The complimentary breakfast was of the same excellent standard and included freshly baked savory pastries and cakes. A memorable stay, thank you Marco.
