Our stay at Daydream Motel and Apartments was excellent.
We stayed in a spa apartment.
It was very modern, clean and spacious.
Had everything we needed. Nice kitchen area and large fridge. Also had a very good King bed.
Good location - walking distance to shops, pubs, restaurants etc.
Chris ( Owner / Manager ) was very friendly and helpful .

Excellent location in well appointed room. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again
Is a lovely old building, the exterior was nicely kept, there unit we booked could do with a refresh. Needs two dining chairs, instead on 1 dining & 1 sunchair. A lounge would have been nice. Had to wash the cooking utensils as they were dirty from a previous booking. Kitchen area could do with a good clean.
We got into a pretty old cottage. The overall experience was good but the cottage is very old and really needs a make over.

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Staff & service
Good location, quiet and convenient for most things. Good price. Clean, good hot water.
However, no sign of any staff, check in and key via a phone call and key safe. Television didn't work at all despite phone call (went to voicemail) to reception and no follow up. Despite claim reception is staffed all day, never anyone there. Only one thin blanket and spare blanket even thinner and Broken Hill in June is very cold at night. 1970's style AC/heating sounds like a 747 taking off therefore can't be on at night. Basically you get what you pay for.
no staff at reception - phone call required to access the key (mid afternoon arrival). Requested another towel (I have a lot of hair) and pillow - never arrived. While the staff member was polite it was quite clear she had no plan on providing the items. Airconditioner worked - much appreciated but NOISY!!! The bed sagged some in the middle. The set up for using the kettle was challenging as a cup was required to pour water into the kettle for boiling - only tap in the bathroom. Summary: ok for a quick night's snooze but totally unsuitable for a few nights. Staff should probably book themselves into a hotel where they get treated well e.g. Quest Mildura, to understand what people expect when they are staying at an accommodation.
I was on a roadtrip & last minute changed my plans to stay in Broken Hill for a couple of nights.
Available CBD accommodation was limited & based my booking on price, prepared for a 2.5 star rated stay.
Upon arrival the office was closed, but a quick call & I'd extracted my key from the keybox & opened the door to a better than expected room.
The room was smallish, but clean & had a brand new, compact, bathroom. After a search of my car I realised I'd left my USB wall plug at home. I thought I'd have to wait until morning to buy one, but pleasantly discovered there was a wall outlet with USB & a powerboard beside the bed, also with USB. This is one of the first motels I've stayed at, of any rating to, to have this.
The aircon unit was manual operation, but super efficient and there was a microwave, toaster & full set of crockery & cutlery.
The motel is an easy 10min walk (max) to the centre of town & walkable to lot of the local attractions.
Based on my experience this should be rated a minimum of 3.5.
They are in the process of a complete makeover with new powerpoints, paint, carpet, bathrooms, tvs & kingsize beds. The room I stayed in had obviously had the bathroom & power points done, but was awaiting painting & carpet. The bed was very comfortable, although on the harder side & tv was small (not sure if it was new or not).
This could become my go to accommodation when I come to The Hill.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Everything seemed abit unmaintained.
Lights in my room did not work at all.
Windows shuddered allnight, made lots of noise.
The cottage was very warm and cosy place to stay at Broken Hill whilst the weather was quite cool.
The cottage was an older style building - but had plenty of space and all the facilities for a family.
We traveled to Broken Hill for the NSW Primary School Basket Ball Carnival - and although the trip was long - Broken Hill is very interesting and has many things to see.
