"The hotel is beautifully appointed and has a lot of character. The old part of the building is truly stunning. Our twin room was significantly larger than expected. It was spacious and comfortable and the kitchenette had a good selection of drinking vessels. However, they were all terribly dirty. We pulled out champagne flutes and they were in a shocking condition. The receptionist gasped when we took them down to exchange. Unfortunately, all other glasses were no better. The housekeeping was poor throughout our stay. Just the beds were made and towels changed. No spare toilet roll provided. We only got one after we had run out. Rubbish bin not emptied daily. A random pillow case left hanging on a side lamp. It was just odd. The massive downside was the pool not being heated. The water was freezing so we didn't use it, which was very disappointing."

"Unfortunately the heater in our room didn’t work. We asked for it to be fixed while we went out for dinner and drinks but nothing happened except that they turned the system off. Room temp was cold. No blankets available. "
