"The lady who checked me in announced my room location loudly while other guest were next to me in the lobby, I was traveling alone. The hotel charges your card for room deposit before arriving at the property even if you opt for pay at location. Generally hotel staff is nasty and rude and repeat over and over you’ll get your deposit back as long as there is no damage to the room. As if someone would choose this dump to destroy a room. Would not recommend unless you are extreme need of somewhere to sleep."

"Stayed at Americas Best Value Inn Austin University recently and overall had a pretty good experience. The highlight for me was definitely the rooms. They felt modernized, surprisingly spacious, and more updated than I expected for the price range. The room was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of space to relax without feeling cramped. The staff was friendly, check-in was smooth, and the location made it easy to get around Austin. A couple small things could definitely improve the overall value of the stay. The “breakfast included” is more of a light grab-and-go snack setup than a full breakfast, mainly consisting of muffins, a granola bar, and a small juice. The vending machine could also benefit from a bigger variety of snacks and drinks for guests staying longer or arriving late. Another thing I noticed was that the pool never seemed to be open during my stay, which was a little disappointing since amenities like that are part of what guests consider when booking. Considering the limited breakfast and unavailable pool, I do think the pricing could be adjusted slightly to better reflect the amenities currently being offered. That said, the updated and spacious rooms were genuinely nice, and overall it was still a comfortable stay for a short trip."
