I am not able to give an accurate rating of the hotel as a whole. There is a homeless encampment directly across the street. We have a young family and felt unsafe, especially since the entrance to the room are from the outside, did not know the room entrance was on the outside at the time of booking. Understand the hotel is not in control of these things.

Walked in the room it was smelly. Also the homeless population was very concerning to my family. I feel for a hotel that cost $250 a night the room was very run down. The staff was kind, but the representing a very poor property.

It was fairly clean and had a nice little pool that had a large-in-comparison water slide feature. The first floor rooms had an inner and outer entrance door which discomforted my friend who like to sleep away from the door. Breakfast options were minimal. It was just off the interstate. Overall not bad for the price.

Pulling up to the hotel was shocking. This hotel is located in the middle of a homeless encampment, there was dozens of homeless people In front of the lobby area, some were naked and others clearly using drugs and alcohol with significant mental illness. The parking lot was surrounded by homeless tents, and the parking lot seemed very, very unsafe to leave a vehicle overnight. We immediately left and went to a different hotel away from the homeless encampment and the hotel Allowed us to cancel the reservation immediately. The other hotel we checked into you said they get multiple guests every week that leave Baymont because they were unaware of the conditions around that hotel. 0/10 I do not recommend. Expedia should pull this listing.

For 250$ Canadian, I wouldn’t be in the DTES of Vancouver and I certainly didn't expect it here. Encampment across the road one way, sketchy something the other. Not how I would choose to stay, driving 1.5 hours out of the way to get to a hotel with a water slide for my kids. So scared of the camping gear in my car. I can’t take everything out. This is not reasonable.

Our stay wasn’t terrible; all the usual things you expect from a hotel - noise, etc. but we found cat poop in the corner of our room and when I told the front desk and asked if they could offer a discount, they said their hands were tied because I booked though a third party. Can’t offer a discount, can’t do anything except apologize that we had to deal with cat poop in our room. Probably won’t stay here again or recommend. Nor will I book third party again. The “discount” isn’t worth it.
