"The rooms were clean and staff was nice. The sink faucet was filthy where the water comes out. I only know this as someone who has to change medical equipment and wipes everything down before using. Everything else was clean. Hotel is no frills but, we would stay here again."

I came to Sumter to visit my son, who is stationed here, and decided to stay at this hotel. We’re about 20 minutes from Shaw, so if you’re wondering whether it’s worth staying here, the answer is YES. The hotel is very clean, the staff is kind, the area feels safe, and the breakfast is good. I don’t have a single complaint about this place. One example of how they went above and beyond: they have a grill outside, and I asked if I could use it and whether they had a folding table. They said they didn’t have one but would figure something out, because I wanted to barbecue for my son. When we went downstairs around 6 p.m., they had set up a brand‑new table, provided new utensils, and the grill was cleaned and ready for us. That made a huge difference, because we were able to enjoy a great evening with my son and a few of his friends. If you’re planning to visit Sumter, don’t hesitate—book this hotel."

"This hotel is now owned by an investment firm per a sign in the lobby. It was very dirty and not maintained. Our first clue was that there were only about 5 cars in the parking lot, a pile of couches in the parking lot, and several screens on the windows were torn. At first we weren’t even sure it was still in business. Staff was friendly but after checking in and getting to our room we decided to leave. Mold and rust were in the room, a lamp shade was broken and torn, the curtains had small holes in them, and it was obvious it was not kept up. We left and went to another hotel."
