"Upon arrival into the council estate hotel car park, beware of local travellers, as you you find your way in, there is No clear signage nor anyone to great you. At first I thought I had walked into a abandoned hotel from the 90’s I managed to find my way up to the reception floor where it was empty and a young man desperately trying to deal with a local travellers, a phone call and myself trying to check in. Considering the position he was left in, he was doing really well. Got the keys to our 2 rooms on the 7th floor, once we opened the door, both rooms absolutely wreaked of cigarettes and B.O. both rooms smelled the same, so not just a one off. Clearly not had new carpets since smoking was banned. There is no Air conditioning or venting, the rooms apart from the window which you can crack open an inch. Lucky we were too tired and went to bed, but the local druggies outside kept us awake from 1.00am until 4.00am screaming. It was a mixture of faulty towers and Grand theft Auto combined into one nightmare. Breakfast finishes at 9.00, when we arrived looked ok, but not really a selection, the coffee machine was out of order, when I asked the only member of staff, where can I get a coffee, she said I would have to have the juice. We reluctantly ate some kind of an egg and bean with overcooked sausage breakfast and left politely left without causing a scene. We booked this hotel, because it has a pool and a gym, the pool and gym were closed. Terrible hotel, Do not book it."
"I loved the history of the hotel. The kids enjoyed being there. The tram was right in front of the hotel. We had a good view of the beach and the tower.
There were steps which we were told were for emergency exit. At first we thought they led down to the reception but wow they looked "scary" Maybe the hotel should put a inscription that the door to the stairs is for emergency"
"Room was not clean a fire broke out on the 3 floor nearly 5hours to get to are room and you could smell the smoke from it not happy with that no refund offered"
"Lovely stay but for the price point I would expect friendly staff on reception and slightly better quality food. However this wouldn’t put me off staying again."
