Direct train to airport and other cities or tram to historic part of city steps away. Host, Adam, is very communicative and lives on premises-- like saying at a friend's. "This was the third time we have visited this establishment for a 3-day visit. All the rooms are extraordinary as they are full of antiques, curios and books, and unusual decorative effects. Good base for visiting Brussels, Ghent and Brugges. Local restaurant/bar the Café Exter well worth a visit. Plenty of local parks for a gentle stroll. Thoroughly enjoyable break."

There are two saunas at the property which I didn't get to use but if I had the time, would have loved to. Breakfast was perfect. The fried eggs have to be tasted to be believed. "The hotel is well maintained, exceptionally clean, has wonderful linens. We stayed in an upstairs room with very narrow winding staircase with no handrails. Difficult to navigate as we are a senior couple. The room was small, but well appointed. However, the peaked ceiling did not allow for a complete wall between the bedroom and bathroom and afforded little privacy. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very accommodating. "The location is excellent, just a 5 mins walk to the central train station and shopping district. Staff are friendly and polite. However during our stay, our one bedroom apartment TV was spoilt on the 2nd day. Informed the staff and they cannot solve the problem, so left us with no entertainment at all throughout our stay for the next 4 days. "
