"This hotel is on the other side of the canal, and they only allow you to cross without paying during a six-hour window from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. After that, you either have to pay a very high amount of money to cross the canal or take a long walk around just to get back to the hotel. "The apartment was perfect for what we needed - great location a couple of minutes from Academia bridge, clean and nicely appointed. Whoever did the modernising was not a perfectionist in terms of finish! But everything worked well and we enjoyed it enormously. "The property is a little ways off of St. Marks square. Not far but there is a bridge that requires dragging your luggage up them and back down. Probably 7-8 steps on each side. The room was small but very clean! They offered a yummy breakfast which was included. The hotel arranged a water taxi for us when needing a ride to the train station. Pricey at 100.00 EU but it was convenient! The staff was super nice! They even allowed us in our room 2 hours early which was a god send! "

"The room was beautiful, accessed through a very narrow alley off one of the main streets. We were able to sign into our Amazon Prime Video account on the tv which was nice for when we were in the room. The only small complaint we had is that you need to walk over to Hotel ALA to check in and out, which isn’t far but after walking 30 minutes across the city with all our bags in the pouring rain it was a bit of a hassle, and DONT FORGET YOUR PASSPORTS if you decide to leave your bags at the door...
