"The hotel location is fantastic for relaxing. About 15 minutes from the airport, looking out over the ocean. The rooftop bar is incredible, and all the food was fantastic, in all the restaurants we tried there. Breakfast is especially worth mentioning. Also a big mention to the small restaurants, a very short walk from the hotel, price of food fantastic, fresh, authentic and staff very helpful and appreciative of the custom. Already looking at coming back next year"
Khaolak Merlin Resort

"We absolutely loved our stay at Merlin - in fact we are still here as we extended our stay with the hotel because we decided we didn’t need to go anywhere else for a truly magical and relaxing stay. We feel immersed in nature - surrounded by incredibly beautiful trees and we saw a slow loris during our night tour! The pools are so lush with vegetation all around them - we spent hours just milling around in what felt like a jungle pool, complete with waterfalls! The staff are all so lovely and super attentive, but with the most relaxed and easy going manner. I found myself quite envious of the people who work here - they honestly seem to be very happy in their work and well looked after. We didn’t go all inclusive and slightly regret that, as it wasn’t a lot more on top and means that, even if you only eat here half the time, it will probably be worth it. We are already trying to figure out when we can come back! Thank you so much everyone at Merlin - we will see you again as soon as possible! 😊"

"Great location for watching sunrise and sunset . Bat was serving all kinds of drinks. We were about 25 people thoroughly enjoyed our time. Food is not the best very taseless but many choices again."

"Our stay at The Sands Khao Lak was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The resort is beautiful, immaculately maintained, and perfectly located right on the beach. The pools were incredible, with plenty of space for both families and adults to relax, and the beach itself was peaceful and stunning. What really made our stay special was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, friendly, and genuinely eager to help. Their hospitality made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-appointed, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve experienced, with a huge variety of delicious options each morning. There were plenty of activities for our kids, making it a wonderful destination for families, while still offering quiet spaces to unwind. We left with amazing memories and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on a future trip to Thailand. Thank you to everyone at The Sands Khao Lak for making our vacation so memorable. Highly recommended!"

Melia Phuket Mai Khao

"Our stay at Meliá Phuket Mai Khao was truly exceptional. After a very long flight, we were warmly welcomed by Sareena at reception, who did everything possible to ensure we could relax as quickly as possible. Thanks to her efficient service, we were enjoying our private pool in less than an hour. We also had the pleasure of meeting the hotel manager, Luc, who greeted us with delicious Thai tea and refreshments. The entire staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. The resort is beautifully designed, with elegant architecture, peaceful koi ponds, two fantastic swimming pools, a pristine beach, and excellent facilities. We especially loved the pool by the beach with direct access to the Gaia restaurant and bar. I also used the gym every day. It was spotless, well air-conditioned, and stocked with towels, drinking water, fresh fruit, and showers. The staff even arrived early every morning—despite heavy tropical rain—to prepare the gym before opening, which perfectly reflected their outstanding dedication and hospitality. The location is ideal, only 12 minutes from Phuket Airport, and convenient for exploring the island by car. Our only minor criticism is that the villas could benefit from better soundproofing. We had a noisy neighbour on our first night, but the hotel staff resolved the issue quickly and professionally. Overall, this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. We highly recommend Meliá Phuket Mai Khao and look forward to returning."

"We highly recommend this hotel. Staff so accommodating, breakfast terrific, swim up bar such fun and room and facilities spotless. Location is close to main road to bars and restaurants especially if you walk through their Italian restaurant onto the street. We also had a fabulous meal there."
