Pretty good room overall. Didn't have a fridge, but overall was good. Breakfast was good, but there was limited choice on the buffet. View was beautiful, that alone was worth the stay. Beds were pretty comfortable too.

Really nice location, had a larger than expected room which was a result. Chose hotel based on reviews about views and being on the 3rd floor was impressive. Spent each evening out on the balcony enjoying the view. The hotel is i think mainly used by walkers/hikers, the surrounding area has many paths. Not far from the main street with its shop and a couple of bars/restaurants but the walk back up the hill will be a bit of a mission. We used the car. There is parking along the side of the hotel. Ingolf is the owner of the hotel, he is a friendly guy who trys to make your stay welcoming.

Everything was prepared with great care, with special touches in every detail — from the salad dressings to the marmalades. Beyond the excellent food, we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. And the gentle musical atmosphere created by the owner added warmth to our stay

Ok, so this wasn’t the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in, however I think it’s unrealistic to expect 5 star luxury when you’re paying so little. Value for money, absolutely 10 out of 10. The room was very large, clean and comfortable, the bed was super comfortable and the views from the balcony were stunning. The room was a little dated but it added to the charm and the bathroom was large, clean and modern with a very powerful shower. Breakfast was ample, if you’re expecting a full English, think again, you’re not in England! Plenty of fresh bread, cheese, cold meats, yogurt, cereal, fruits and vegetables with a sweet treat for 2 thrown in for good measure. Then you get to the owner, Ingolf. Never have we been made to feel more welcome. He’s a larger than life character, full of good humour and nothing is too much trouble. We’d come back from a day out somewhere and he’d have coffee and a home baked cheesecake or fruit waiting, at no extra charge I might add! I’ve seen a couple of recent reviews slating the place and I can honestly say, they are being unfair and unjust. Like I say, the place isn’t a 5 star resort but you aren’t paying 5 star prices and it’s unrealistic to expect that. Ingolf is restoring it room by room and some areas maybe look better than others currently. Will I return here? Absolutely, we can’t wait to come back, looking forward to seeing the changes you make. Thank you again for making us feel so welcome.

We are so glad we found this delightful place to stay for a few days on our trip across Europe. The hotel is cozy and personal with unique items found in nooks throughout. Our room was large, clean, comfortable and included all the essentials. A table with seating for four was a bonus. It wasn’t the season to sit on the balcony but the view out over the valley and mountains was matchless. Our host was friendly and conversational. He gave us good recommendations about the area. Breakfast was home made and excellent including breads with homemade jam, meat, cheese, fruit, tomatoes, cereal, yoghurt and quark, tea, cappuccino and juice. Tea, coffee and fruit were always available. The hotel is under renovation so is a bit rough around the edges in some places. That in no way interfered with the enjoyment of our stay.

The hotel is perfectly located at the top of the town, just a few minutes’ walk from the Black Forest hiking trail. The rooms offer beautiful views of the surrounding greenery. The owner, Ingolf, truly cares about sustainability and has decorated the hotel with this in mind, while still staying true to its original character. Ingolf is an exceptionally kind and welcoming host. When he learned that my wife is a designer, he personally showed us details around the hotel that might be of interest, and we had a really enjoyable conversation. The atmosphere feels very different from a standard hotel – it’s warm, friendly, and personal. Although we arrived much later than the official check-in time, Ingolf came quickly after we reached him through the booking website and welcomed us with a smile. Breakfast was excellent and exactly what we wanted. We feel very lucky to have discovered this wonderful place and would definitely recommend it.

Awful. We stayed as a 1 night stopover on our long journey and from the reviews and website were expecting something decent. From the get go it was clear that the website is based on false advertising. The outside of the property is unkempt, rubbish and diy stuff strewn around. No reception desk, just a laptop in the dining room. Christmas and Easter bits still out in the corridor. Shown to our rooms (family of 5, booked 2 rooms). We're given a closed off corridor of 5 rooms and told to pick... They were awful. No lighting working in the corridor, tools laying around, screw boxes, open Stanley knives, open electrical wires, holes in walls, cracks in the balcony that makes me question if they were safe to step on. Curtains that don't close, stained and peeling wallpaper, and on one curtain that I tried to close, what we all though looked like a solid faeces... We didn't look too closely as immediately ran from it. A rusty fan with what I can assume has had no electrical testing since the 70s. We went out immediately for dinner and stayed out until we literally had to rest our heads and then get out at 7am, avoiding breakfast. Our family now refer to it as the hell hotel.

We were hesitant to write a review of our experience staying in this hotel, however i feel this must be known for future guests if they are considering staying in this hotel. We were told on the day of arrival that they don't have hot water, and heating system has broken down. We were also told we were the only 2 guests in the hotel. The owner of the hotel replied he doesn't know when this will get fixed and most likely will be after we leave. We found it hard to believe, as a running business this cannot be fixed as soon as possible, or fixed on the same day. We endured 3 nights and 4 days showering with cold water. There was no heating system and we were given a portable heater only. On our last day we were leaving, we learned he was expecting guests with a young family arriving the same day. It was clear from that day we felt fooled and cheated by the owner for purposely turning the heating system off as we were the only 2 adult guests there in the whole hotel. We thought to ourselves surely the guests with young children will require hot water and heating. After reading the most recent review its seems obvious our thoughts were right, the owner can't be bothered to turn on the water heating system for us because we are only 2 adult guests, maybe to save money. There was no mention of no hot water or heating system from the young family so i would assume it was turned on back for them, very dissapointing for us and in a way has spoilt our stay.

Zeer vriendelijke eigenaar. Door veel files onderweg kwamen we later aan. Na contact te hebben gehad met eigenaar was het geen probleem en bleef hij op ons wachten. Gezellig hotel, lekker vers ontbijt. Vlakbij een heerlijk buitenzwembad wat gratis is als je bij hotel verblijft. Uitzicht is prachtig. Wij als gezin van 5 vinden het zeker een aanrader.

De eigenaar was heel vriendelijk en enthousiast. Gaf ons een hele vleugel . Dat was positief. De bedden waren prima en schoon. Maar de ruimte was wel erg vies. Tot halflege McDonald's zakken in de kast aan toe. De douche in de sauna was eveneens erg smerig. Zwembad stond zonder water. Het ontbijt was goed, maar wel redelijk summier. Vers brood, maar bijvoorbeeld geen eieren bij het ontbijt. Ik had het idee dat de eigenaar het hele hotel in z'n eentje runde.

Uitstekende locatie voor onze stop op doorreis naar het Zuiden. Mooie plek, vriendelijk ontvangen en een gigantische kamer. Ja, het hotel is niet het modernste, maar wat maakt het uit met deze beleving.

Der persönliche Empfang war besonders herzlich und hat uns sofort willkommen fühlen lassen. Der Gastgeber ist außergewöhnlich freundlich, aufmerksam und nimmt sich bewusst Zeit für seine Gäste. Man merkt deutlich, dass ihm das Wohlbefinden wirklich am Herzen liegt und er großen Wert darauf legt, dass es an nichts fehlt. Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir mit einem Getränk begrüßt, und sogar unsere Stühle im Aufenthaltsraum wurden so ausgerichtet, dass wir die traumhafte Aussicht optimal genießen konnten. Während unseres Aufenthalts hatten wir stets das Gefühl, eher bei jemandem zu Besuch zu sein als einfach nur Gäste in einem Hotel zu sein. Trotz der Größe des Hauses und der vielen Aufgaben, die zu bewältigen sind, liegt der Fokus ganz klar auf dem einzelnen Gast!! Die Aussicht ist einfach traumhaft – besonders der Panorama-Blick bleibt unvergesslich. Wir haben zudem sehr gut geschlafen und konnten den Aufenthalt rundum genießen.

Nous recommandons de passer un séjour de courte ou longue durée dans l’hôtel atypique d’Ingolf ! Ingolf est très serviable et nous a partagé sa vision de créer un hôtel durable : “il y a 50, 70 ans on ne parlait pas de durabilité, on parlait de qualité “. La vue de la suite sur la Forêt-Noire est merveilleuse, hôtel étant suspendu sur la montagne procure un panorama sur toute la vallée de Bad Peterstal ! En venant dans l’hôtel d’Ingolf préparez vous à vous ouvrir à un mode de gestion hôtelière assumée surtout une belle découverte de l’univers de son propriétaire.
