"Had a very nice overnight at the Brittany Motel. The room was clean and very well appointed. Parking is right at your door and most important for us they allow dogs. The check-in is all done on-line as there is no front desk or innkeeper on site, but it all worked well. In a high-end town like Manchester Center, VT the price is certainly reasonable. Definitely recommend a visit."

"Room smelled like mildew, took 5 minutes to feel hot water in small unclean shower then mid shower the water completely shut off. Bad WiFi and not clean"

"We booked this hotel as a half way point on our way to Niagara Falls. From the moment we checked in the staff we incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the amenities were nice. My family enjoyed swimming in the pool. It’s near a chilis which was nice to stop and have dinner. If ever in the area again we would stay again!"

"Best part: Breakfast and the views. Communication and follow through were not what I was hoping for. We reported fire ants being at the door on the first night. Received an email saying they would have a service person address it. Next morning the ants made their way into the room. I notified staff the next morning, in person, and was assured it was taken care of. We had ants the entire time, which because more and more of a problem, as one might expect. Additionally, we paid $300 at the Inn...

"The Reluctant Panther was a cut above the other inns that I have stayed at. On check in, we were walked to our room and shown where everything was. The room was very large and comfortable. There was a nice seating area in front of a fireplace. We chose to eat dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and had a truly excellent meal and excellent service. Breakfast is served in a basket that can be picked up in the dining room or delivered to your room. All in all, our stay was exceptional. "

"We had a lovely time staying in the Tower Room for our wedding weekend! The space feels like it's own tiny apartment with a winding center staircase leading up to a luxurious spa-like bathroom, perfect for getting ready in the morning and relaxing at night! The staff was kind and helpful, our only regret was not being able to stay on property longer, we will definitely be coming back to try the famous French Toast at breakfast!"

"The property was a retro experience, which was okay. A few issues: 1. The electrical outlets didn't work well - we plugged a couple of devices overnight and they weren't charged at all by morning. The multi-plug extender provided connections that were too loose to work. 2. The sink was very small (about 8.5 x 11) with a cabinet overhang. It was difficult to impossible to position your mouth over the sink while brushing your teeth. 3. I wanted to lower the temperature in the shower and...

"Truly felt vacationed with the beauty and comfort of the property. Staff …. Super friendly! If traveling w a dog, this is the place to be. The salt water pool was wonderful after a long stroll through the beautiful town of Manchester. I’ll be coming back!"

"This was the second time I’ve stayed at this location, first time under New Englander Inn name. Both times I was impressed by how clean and organized the breakfast area was. A staff member was constantly in and out cleaning up and restocking the breakfast items."

"South Shire is a quaint Victorian Inn on Elm Street within walking distance to the center of Bennington, VT. The Inn has a family feel and elegance. We traveled as a couple. It was easy to get to sites and enjoy fine restaurants. The Inn is in keeping with the feel of strength of the Bennington community, as a place for artists, musicians, and people's expression generally to thrive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend South Shire."

"The resort looks tired. It needs a few repairs. The staff was friendly. We did not eat at the resort, but the next tiem we stay I would like to stay longer. I am not convinced that we received the benefits of the resort that we paid for on our resort fee. I attended a wonderful yoga class with Jasmine. I highly recommend the yoga, and the pool looked inviting, and I wish I had swum laps there. We will try it again, but I think the resort is overpriced given the quality of the amenities...
