This was a most lovely place to stay! The entire property is extremely well kept, the room was very comfortable and well equipped and the pool was great. And the food! Home cooked in front of you and placed on the table with enthusiasm. So delicious. Just lovely people and a lovely and peaceful town.

This accommodation was so lovely and quaint. The surrounding village was nestled in a rocky valley and seemed very charming with fruit trees and sheep in the yards. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Προσεγμένος ξενώνας φτιαγμένος με μεράκι που φαίνεται από την κατασκευή μέχρι και την επιλογή των επίπλων. Δεν είναι άλλο ένα copy paste δωματιο αλλά αντίθετα δίνει την αίσθηση του πιο παραδοσιακού χωρίς να είναι παλαιικό. Εξοπλισμένο με βραστήρα, καφετιέρα, μάτι, ψυγείο και βασικά μαχαιρουπήρουνα και πιάτα.

We stayed for 4 days. The property is tucked into a small working village best accessible by rental car. It is a 4th generation family operation run by one of the nicest older couples we have ever met. The room was cute and spotless. I’d encourage you to accept the hosts offer for breakfast and dinner. The food and beverages are locally-sourced, plentiful and delicious. We were treated like family and enjoyed an authentic Greek cultural experience.

Perfect for what I was looking for.

This I believe is a family run establishment and I was made to feel very much at home. Very friendly and generous atmosphere. For a quiet stay in a small village I couldn't reccomend Petronikolis more. Additionally there are some very good, very traditional restaurants in the area to try. In a word excellent and exactly what I needed.

This little hotel is absolutely great! It is operated by an older couple and they are so very welcoming! Our apartment was nice, cozy and clean. Location is quiet, if you are like us and don't mind hearing roosters, goats, and other animals/birds sounds, as this hotel is located in the small Greek village. Restaurant is on site and ALL meals are prepared by the lady-owner, so dining experience cannot get any more authentic than that. Oh, and pricing is VERY affordable. Overall, we loved this place and would definitely come back!

Comfortable stop over spot

This would make a comfortable stop over base for a couple of nights if exploring the local area and you wanted to have the flexibility of some self catering along side eating out etc. The airport is about 30 mins away.

Pas à la hauteur de mes attentes

Situé dans une très jolie région et un village à l'écart des routes touristiques. Le lieu est charmant, la chambre correcte (même si très petite, on fait difficilement le tour du lit) et la salle de bains désuète. Mais ce qui m'a vraiment déçu c'est le prix du petit-déjeuner, digne d'un palace : 8 € pour des gâteaux secs, des confitures industrielles et un café pas buvable. Une vraie arnaque...

Hosts were very welcoming. Apartment was very clean. All the facilities you could need. Pool was very well maintained, food was delicious, i recommend the moussaka. Very quiet village with beautiful surroundings. We were leaving very early in the morning and the host offered us breakfast before the scheduled time, we didn't eat it but took a few delightful snacks for the journey.

My kids and I had a wonderful experience at this quaint little hotel in the charming village of Houthetsi. Nikos and his wife Vagelio were the perfect hosts, they treated us like long lost family and catered to our every whim. If you want a traditional Cretan village experience this is the perfect place, I highly recommend it!

Beware This is not what it claims. We travelled from the other side of Greece having booked a pet friendly one bedroom apartment with balcony.We were shown a dark wide corridor with aged dirty furniture, kitchenette that was 2 cooking plates and a boiler, and no window! When told the lady this is not what I paid for I need a balcony and a window, she showed me the alley outside and said this is the patio, and the window on the entrance door this is the window. Most importantly she said the dog cannot stay in the room but she will allow me to tie him on the tree outside. When I said this is unacceptable I want the room I paid for she said I don't know nothing speak with my son all one bed apartments are full. They started saying the site shouldn't have them as pet friendly, they never explained why I was given a dark studio instead of what I paid for, they refused to refund me when I said it is impossible for us to stay here because you're giving us the wrong room and you do not accept our dog. Then they were ok keep the dog- in the studio but be careful he won't be seen..still no explanation or apology for not giving me the apartment.we left to discuss with my partner after being threatened they will give away the studio by noon. So triple booking it was The pool you see is a bathtub Tip to the tax man, no receipt for the orangeade Before you book it says free meals and welcome drink included Once you book this magically disappears

Lovely accommodation located in a charming village

Lovely, friendly accommodation located within a charming, traditional Greek village. The owners gave us a very warm welcome. Their English was limited, but this did not stop them being fantastic hosts. Their smiles spoke a thousand words and just showed how lovely they are. If we did need to speak to them about anything complicated, they did have English speaking family members at the end of the phone. The suite was basic, but spacious and clean. The air conditioning system was a welcome addition to the room. The bed was a little on the hard side, so if you have back issues, a travel mattress topper may be advantageous. The pool and lounging area is superb! Very comfortable and relaxing. The accommodation's taverna provided a very plentiful breakfast, and there was a variety of lunch and snack options. We had a lovely evening meal at the taverna, where we were given a very generous helping of wonderful mousaka. The village of Choudetsi has a couple of other tavernas, away from the accommodation, the best being 'Roussos'. The food is fabulous and very reasonably priced. The village had a very warm vibe, with the residents being very friendly. It was lovely to be in a more traditional part of Crete, away from the extremely touristy areas on the coast. You really need a rental car if you choose to stay in the village, but we loved the freedom of travelling around the island but being able to come back to the calm setting of Choudetsi.

Flott hotell i koselig landsby. Fortjener mer enn to stjerner, men maten var bedre på restaurant :) Det er lett å kjøre seg fast i smale gater. Kommer du med bil, må du bruke gaten over hotellet. Der har de en liten og trang parkeringsplass.

Nettes familiäres Hotel im Landesinnern

Wir hatten das wohl schönste Appartement, welches eine Terrasse direkt an der schmalen, typisch ländlich-kretischen Dorfstraße beinhaltete. Wobei die Terrasse oberhalb liegt, also nicht einsehbar ist. Ab späterem Nachmittag liegt sie komplett im Schatten und man kann dort prima lesen und essen, was man in der appartementseigenen Kochzeile zubereitet hat. Ein kleiner Supermarkt ist fußläufig in 3 min. erreichbar. Frühstück und Abendessen seitens des Hotels ist optional im oberen Bereich der Anlage möglich. Der Parkplatz befindet sich oberhalb der gesamten Anlage. Alles ist ruhig und dörflich.

Για αυτο που ζητουσαμε ηταν οτι πρεπει! Απολυτη χαλαρωση ,ηρεμια μακρια απο την βαβουρα της πολης! Το δωματιο καθαρο αν εξαιρεσεις κατι πιατα και κατι κατσαρολικα λεπτομεριες κατα την αποψη μου!Αξιο για χαλαρωση!
