Fantastic hotel, friendly staff, clean and quiet and we really like the neighbourhood. Close to the train station, plenty of restaurants and a bit more low-key than staying in Seoul.

Cozy and hospitable!

Breakfast was good, simple, priced right. Staff should trust customer. I injurred my foot in the hotel bathroom and my husband tried to bring up breakfast for me after paying for my portion. He felt awkward as the kitchen staff was monitoring him reminding him to bring down the coffee cup. That was odd and not necessary. Rest of the staffs were very friendly. Thanks for your hospitality.

Peaceful and quiet stay

Yes, the food was fresh although selections were minimal. If a couples stay, both should be covered at that price. If price needs to be raised, more selections would increase repeat customers, 💕

We stayed at Hotel Aura for a total of 4 nights and it was an okay experience, not outstanding. Some of the staff members were kind and helpful. A few of them were not fluent in English, but it’s not an issue in my opinion. We were able to communicate using Google Translate. We picked a plan with Expedia in which only one free breakfast/day was offered per room and we paid for the second one (we’re a couple) upon check-in. As we didn’t receive any receipts, it was a hassle to pick up our vouchers every morning at the reception and having to explain that we had already paid for it. :/ Pros: the hotel is very close to a subway station; there are tons of dining options nearby. You don’t have to walk much to get to restaurants, coffee shops, drugstores, convenience stores; the size of the room and bathroom was quite impressive if you consider the price point; the hotel, despite being a bit outdated, was very clean! Amenities were also very good! Cons: it is VERY FAR from the main attractions in Seoul. The train ride was over one hour long (one way)! Looking back, it would’ve probably been better off spending a bit more money and staying at a closer accommodation to downtown Seoul; the breakfast buffet was exactly the same every morning. No variation whatsoever. At times, the food seemed preheated from the day before. :/ The area around the hotel was quiet, but sketchy. If traveling with children, you’d be better off skipping it.

We travelled as a big group. Some rooms were booked for 2 persons but there was only one towel provided in each room. When we asked for more towels, the front desk rudely told my friends that our group asked for too many towels. We also felt quite unsafe due to two things. There is a light outside the room at the door which would indicate whether there was a key card slotted into the mains which would then indicate if there was anyone in the room. This could potentially be a safety issue as others would know your whereabouts. The second thing was that one of our group members were wrongly issued the master keycard. We realised this because she accidentally used the card for another room and the door opened. We tried the card on the other rooms and it worked. We feedback to the front desk and asked for the correct key card. When we collected the supposed new key card, the card could still open all doors. It was quite difficult to get taxis to go to Hanyang uni Erica campus, which was our main reason for staying at this hotel. We thought that the proximity to the campus is a plus point. However due to the short distance, many taxis including kakao refused the job. This is out of the control of the hotel but would just like to bring to your attention in case you are thinking of staying here for easier travel to the campus. Having said all these negative points, the rooms are very spacious and clean. Most of the staff were nice and helpful.

Hotel was ok. Staff could have been more giving for hotel items. When I asked for extra pillows to rest my injured knee on while I slept I was told they couldn’t give me anymore pillows. And when asked for clean bed sheets, I was told I had to wait until room service came by to change them.
