There are scores of two-star hotels in Krabi. While this slice of southern Thai heaven is becoming more and more developed and expensive, it still also has affordable accommodation. You can certainly find two-star places in Ao Nang and both Khlong Muang Beach. Krabi Town also has good options for cheaper accommodation.

The best bet for two-star hotels in Krabi is along the Airport Road area of Ao Nang. The newer sois beyond the beach towards Nopparat Thara are also looking into. The Irish Bar in Ao Nang resides on a small street well-known among backpackers for its cheaper accommodation. This is well within walking distance of the beach and entertainment.

Two-star hotels are similar to one-star hotels as far as facilities, but there are many more choices as most of the really cheap, jungle-style bungalows in Krabi have long since gone.

The Krabi Forest Homestay along Nopparat Thara Road is one of your best bets for staying in affordable two star-hotels in Krabi. It is between Ao Nang and the up-and-coming Nopparat Thara—another spot to consider staying. You can still walk to Ao Nang and even have a spa, bar, and well-equipped rooms with WiFi.

Guesthouses and boutique hotels are considered two-star hotels in Krabi. If you are looking to avoid Ao Nang itself, Krabi Town is a fairly quiet, provincial town to be based. It is small with wide streets and a pleasant harbour area where you can find nightly market with cheap southern Thai foodstuffs. Trips go from the harbour to most of Krabi’s beaches, islands, and choice areas. Although not the prettiest or most happening town, you can pick up a cheap guesthouse on Chao Fah Road near the centre of town for a good price. You can still enjoy your stay in the Krabi area without spending a lot thanks to so many different options.
