Kashmir was very friendly and there is a good pub/restaurant next door and a Nepales restaurant is a 2 min car ride or a 10 min walk. Car parking also available on site. Accommodation is ok but basic and above a corner shop

I was a bit confused at first , locating the Guest House was not straightforward but once I’d spoken to the staff on the phone all was out right. Nice service , clean rooms and nice breakfast - excellent.

Room and en suite was a good size. Stairs were an odd size which meant they were tricky to negotiate. Parking was a nightmare! The entrance to the car park left an inch either side of my car and the car had to be perfectly lined - up to get through the gap without hitting the walls. This was made worse by a narrow car park at the rear which made it difficult to pull out in one go without hitting the fence. In 40 yrs of driving I have never seen anywhere more difficult to park! Once out, trying to turn right was very hazardous with traffic moving very fast round a blind bend. How I survived 3 nights without prang in my car I will never know.

property is above a shop, of which there was no mention when booking. Nobody there to present the key or show us to our room. When I couldn't gain access I went in to the shop to see if they knew anything about it and was given the key. No mention was made when booking of where to get the key. Room was tiny. A sloping floor. Only 1 bedside cabinet would fit. One tiny wardrobe with 4 hangers. Nowhere near enough for a few days stay. Toilet was facing an angled wall which meant I would not have been able to sit on it properly. Cobwebs hanging down from the bathroom ceiling. 3 small box pictures balanced on nails on the wall behind the bed and had a thick layer of dust on top. We did not stay even though we had booked 4 nights. Would have complained if there had been somebody there to complain to..

We arrived at the B&B which is located behind a liquor and cigarette store and the entrance is hidden back from the street under an arch. It just looks cheap from the outside. We arrived before our check in time and the owner was out so we called to be let in. She arrived very quickly and was very accommodating. The room was not yet ready but she let us put our bags in it. The room was bright and uncluttered and one can imagine that it would be fine once she has changed the sheets etc... However the location is quite far from the town center. Not ideal for walking or walking with kids. We quickly decided to abandon our booking and found another hotel in the town center which was a bit more expensive but better location and not stuck on a busy street behind a liquor store. Lesson learned: to check on a map app the location of hotels compared to the main sites. Reviews by other guests or Expedia can be deceptive.

very let down by the fact that no one was there to check us in Bathroom could not have been smaller , shower had zero pressure and water fairly cold...(what was coming thru) Pillows ...... flat and non existent..... didn't bode well for a great nights sleep ........ thankfully we won't be requiring this service again ......

Give this a miss.

Nobody there to register us in. Local shop had no knowledge of booking so phoned someone who said they would come in 5 mins. with a key. Aout 15 mins. later a man drove up opened the main door gave us a key and left. Once in room found it set up for only 1 person with 'pancake' pillows on bed. Back to shop to ask for the room to be changed to suit 2 people. Another phone call and then phone thrust at me where by I was told booking was for 1 person. When I said I had proof it was for 2 in my hand was told it would be sorted later. Asked for 2 more pillows as well. Late afternoon back in room found it now was suitable for 2 but new pillows were 'pancakes' too!!. Breakfast ok but had to leave a note to find out when that was.

B & B that not much pride taken in

Very difficult to find - no one there to greet us - had to collect keys from shop at front. Television didn't work and even though we mentioned this after our first night it was no better the second night. No one there to check us out. Bed very uncomfortable and very small for two, room tiny - bathroom even smaller - burnt my back on towel heater when stepped back from sink.

Overnight business stay in Windsor

Booked at short notice as it was close to where a last minute meeting had been set up. It was fairly basic, but provided everything I needed. Bed would be a bit small for a couple (I’m 6’+) but again perfectly fine for a single traveller. The staff were great Would definitely stay again.

Great place for a stop-over would stay again

Very Happy with this Guest House. It was nice to have a central area to stay as had business in two local areas. Find this better than the larger chains as level of food on offer is good with out being greedy. Breakfast freshly made to order so can relax before heading off for the day or appointments. Lots of restaurants in the town close by.

No Heat has

Room had no heat ,thick layer of dust on lamps etc. and hair on sheets.Arrived with cold tired children after day at LEGOLAND and no one there at 6:30 pm even though check in was listed as up to 9 pm no note or anything after calling we were told to go to a shop for key all with children standing in cold wet night. I could not bath them as room had no heat, I checked hallways lobby all radiators were off. Slept bundled in our winter coats.We ordered breakfast on cards as instructed and told host we had train to catch but meals were 30 minutes late being served so left hungry so not to miss train. One good thing nice bathroom with hot water.

The worse B&B I have ever experienced. Forget the pretty picture on the website,bears no resemblance to the actual place. It is converted cupboards above a convenience store on a main road. Freezing cold in November - heating did not work at all, bathroom sink blocked, so had to wash in cold water the 1st day. Even the TV was sympathetic - it also kept freezing. No-where to put ones toiletries in the bathroom, hence they all fell into the sink, also no-where to put a case in the actual room, which was the smallest room I have ever encountered. It did have an enormous wardrobe - totally unnecessary. The mattress of the bed was an old fashioned sprung mattress, which was most uncomfortable - forget what it says on the website. No-one on site to fix anything. This place should be removed from Expedia website. The only up side is that it is next to a warm pub with good food, which I later found out did B&B. Should have stayed there.

Ok but not great, wouldnt rush there again.

Couldn’t find where to park so called to ask. Had to go in to local shop to get a key to the room as no one else to check in with. Room was small and had to sit at an angle to sit on toilet due to angle of fitting. Tv reception poor and unwatchable most of the time. When checking out checked under bed for sons toys and found it very dirty and dusty under bed. Bed VERY uncomfortable. Breakfast was very nice but way too small. Only one sausage on an adult cooked breakfast not good. Even my 6year old son was still hi hey afterwards had to stop for more. Could t make drinks in room as lots of tea and coffee provided but only 1 cup when there were two of us booked in and no way to get another.

Great place, looks can be deceptive.

Very clean and tidy, lovely breakfast and lovely lady running the guest house. It was great for our family trip to legoland, which was only a 5min drive away. Only difficulty was finding the guest house, as didn’t realise it was above/behind a newsagents.

Excellence.

I've read some negative reviews about Windsor Guest House and can't relate those to this place at all. Kashmir was friendly, engaging and cooked a wonderful breakfast. The room was spotlessly clean, tidy and very comfortable. I'll definitely be booking again.

Stay somewhere else.

To start we turned up and rang bell...no answer. After several attempts to call decided to ask at shop . They had keys all along. Nothing on the door or website indicated the keys would be there. We entered a room that to call small would be an understatement. Devices to make a cup of tea but the kettle was unusually full of water which I decided to empty...lucky I did! It was disgusting!!! Obviously previous people had used for goodness knows what and the 'residue' was foul. Next discovery was that the toilet seat was loose and provided to be challenging manoeuvre in such a tight space. Bed seemed to be more of a 'king single' than a 'double'. Good point was that the location was good.

Pay for what you get

Very hard to find, found key by asking store clerk downstairs how I get in as they left it with him. Hard to park as it's very tight to get in and out of car scratched on way out of alley. Friendly staff in morning for breakfast.

Clean, convenient to town centre

A little difficult to find......signage a bit too small, and situated behind a shop....but once inside, was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. Breakfast included too - so that was a bonus.

The room was bigger than expected. The room was clean and it provided everything I required. Breakfast was good. Lady serving was friendly and helpful. The only ‘issue’ was not being advised that the property was ‘unmanned’ and that you pick up the key from the shop at the front.
