Recently stayed at The Hermitage Inn and loved it. The property is completely renovated to perfection and the dining was great. Cozy bar, friendly staff. I liked having fireplaces going in my room and throughout the property. Will definitely be going back.
It's a great place to stay. We opted for the smaller less expensive room that was still very nice. However, the room is directly above the bar and dining room. We liked the convenience of rolling down the stairs to the breakfast but it came with a price. If you choose one of these rooms you have to be prepared to listen to the loud voices of those with the type of hearing loss that accompanies controlled consumption of alcohol. A pre-check in warning would have been appreciated. The two in-room noice cancelling devices were not helpful.
The food was great, we had an excellent meal in the tavern and enjoyed a glass of their pinot noir choice. Breakfast is continental, but still excellent and is in the comfortable tavern setting. The service was charming.
Facilities are tasteful, grounds beautiful and well maintained. Service is friendly, but the facility is severely understaffed. Had no housekeeping service for 3 of 5 nights. Breakfast is superb and included. Dinner menue is quite limited and so-so. Dining room and bar are tasteful and cosy.
A beautiful setting. The owners completely remodeled an older structure.
Upon arrival, we were asked to sign a multiple page indemnity agreement. This should have been disclosed prior to arrival and deposits made. In all the decades my wife and I have traveled, we’ve never been required to sign a broad indemnity agreement anywhere else.
