"We had an amazing stay at Bakubung! The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. Our flight from Cape Town was delayed by several hours so we arrived at the lodge close to 10pm. Not only did they respond to my email quickly to reassure me that the late check-in would be no problem, but the receptionist quickly guided us to the restaurant as soon as we arrived, as the kitchen was closing and she wanted to make sure we had something to eat before bed. "very nice surprise, a lot of history to the place especially if you are into the anglo boer war, Paul Kruger etc. Met the owner, Robert Forsyth, very nice and friendly person, full of knowledge about South African History. The room we were in was very spacious, it also included a sizeable bathtub.
There are 60 something rooms in the lodge but they appear to be spread out as I only saw maybe a dozen which made the place very private.
