"We’ve stayed at the Beach Club Resort 6–7 times and usually love it. In the past it felt like an upscale beachfront hotel with great views and easy access to everything.
This stay was very disappointing due to our room location in the West Tower (room 221).
To reach the room you take an elevator, exit through a door, and walk along an exterior corridor past what appears to be the hotel’s recycling/service area and a very strange inward-facing room where the living room window faces directly into the walkway. Every other room faces the ocean, so this feels very out of place and not at all like a premium hotel arrival experience.
The room itself is nice and does have an ocean view, but it’s not a clean view. Off to the side you can see the backside of the outdoor servers’ area, including what looked like a makeshift table made from two milk crates and a piece of plywood.
The bigger issue was access. The doors between the West Tower and the hotel are locked from 11pm–7am. When I went to get something from my car for my son late at night, I couldn’t reach the elevator. The parkade door was also locked, so in the rain I had to walk down the street to the front lobby entrance just to get back inside the hotel.
Because the West Tower is exterior access and separated overnight, it honestly feels more like staying in a motel-style building beside the hotel while paying full hotel rates.
We came to celebrate my son’s 5th birthday, so this was frustrating. Even at checkout no one "
"Upon arrival, after a long drive in a dark night filled with rain, I was met by a warm friendly front desk staff. I was disappointed to learn there was a mistake with the online booking I made and the room I had chosen was unavailable. However, I was immediately surprised and very pleased to learn I had been upgraded as a result. They were kind enough to put me in a stand-alone cottage."
"Didn’t have an ocean view. Saw a water bowl for dogs. Happy hour was good service 2nd to none. The resort looked like it had been updated. I like how I could cast shows from my phone. We will absolutely go back."
"Awesome hotel! The biggest plus was the amazing coffee machine they had in the lobby! It was high tech.
The hot tub was perfect after a long day of skiing!
Great place, will be returning!"
