The staff was very helpful and dealt with the issue we had, but, the room had a cigarette butt left on the floor, and smelled of cigarettes.
We have been using this hotel on and off for nearly 30 years and can always rely on its consistency. the welcome is friendly and the Manager obviously cares as he was out litter picking when we arrived so I'd say over and above !
Very good value for money with all of the amenities required for an overnight stop-over. Longer standard check-in hours than some other hotel chains took the stress out of a later arrival after a day of travelling.
Perfect for an overnight rest if you have long to drive as it is located very near the motorway. It has a magnificent bakery nearby with hot fresh bread galore and a variety of croissants etc. The coffee is really tasty too. The hotel offers all the basics you need. The bed is really comfy.
The staff were very helpful.
The hotel itself was grim. Black mold in shower, paint flaking off on toilet wall, minimum space and uncomfortable bed. I asked for more pillows as we only had 2 very small ones to be told that is all we are allowed.
Full of workmen.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
The hotel is very basic and feels more like an overnight stop for tradespeople and courier drivers than somewhere intended for a comfortable stay. The car park was full of white vans, which gives a fair indication of the typical clientele.
We arrived late and had to use the QR-code check-in system on the door. This was made difficult by the poor mobile signal in the area, although connecting to the hotel WiFi solved the problem.
The mattress was thin but pleasantly firm and reasonably comfortable. However, our triple room only came with two pillows, which seemed inadequate for three guests.
The WiFi was reliable throughout our stay.
Be very careful when booking, particularly if the room description includes “Shared Bathroom”. While this is mentioned in the listing, it is easy to overlook that there is no toilet or shower in the room itself. The room only contains a wash basin, with guests required to use communal facilities at the end of the corridor. There was just one shower and two toilets serving multiple rooms, and both were in a grim condition. The facilities were so poor that we left early the following morning rather than use them. I have stayed at several campsites with considerably better bathroom facilities.
We booked two rooms and one of them had a noticeable smell of body odour mixed with old cigarette smoke, which was unpleasant.
We had paid for breakfast in advance when booking. The offering consisted of yoghurt, bread, jam and coffee. Had breakfast not a
The price was not the cheapest online. I was looking for parking out of town. The disadvantage is that finding somewhere to eat in walking distance was a good 15-20 minutes away. There is only a vending machine.
My biggest gripe is the WiFi, it was terrible and as I was stuck for 3 nights to repair my bike the WiFi would have been useful to find solutions.
The rooms are small, with no storage and little space to place your luggage.
Language was generally the barrier, but Google came to the rescue.
It’s not an unpleasant place to say. Parking is plentiful and secure locked at night.
Main areas of improvement would be the WiFi nothing to be done about the proximity of restaurants or room size. Perhaps increase the variety of ready meals and the bits you can buy. Check was a bit tedious but not the end of the world.
Beds are comfortable. Shower is hot.
It’s clean, functional
I booked 11 weeks before arrival. I requested a ground floor room for a disabled person. On arrival I was told that they did not have one as they had all been taken. I then received an email that was sent that afternoon telling me that there was no ground floor room available. Due to travelling I did not receive the email until 1 hour after arriving. We had to have a first floor room or go somewhere else. As It was late we could not risk trying to find another hotel. My wife struggled to go up the stairs and hurt her legs and hip.

A favoured room for smokers who could stand in the window to pretend they were law-abiding.
Butt, given that, still worth every euro of the £33!

This place was very simple and basic - bed was a sheet of MDF with a very thin mattress so sleep was poor. Dont bother paying for breakfast !
It was full of residents that were using the place as a hostel. There was empty beer bottles and cans around the tables in front of reception and the whole experience was like staying in a migrant camp. It felt threatening and totally unsafe. Add to that a filthy toilet bowl and I would never go near this place again if you paid me
smallest room I have ever stayed in with the absolute tiniest bathroom ever. So tiny that the toilet roll was under the sink and the soap was at the back of the toilet.
The bed was made of a mattress only 3 inches think on a flat wooden slab.
There was barely enough room to walk around the bed. Stifling hot and no air conditioning.
Thin mattress and bedding poor. Pillows rubbish.
Hole in plasterboard- look like from a punch!
Shower was only good thing in room.
Night porter was pleasant and polite.
Sorry, we cannot give a better review. The Receptionist was not very welcoming or informative. We did not check when we booked that the room had 'en suite' toilet and discovered that we had to go into communal ones in the corridor. Not ideal as I have a weak bladder. During the evening we discovered that the room was invaded by tiny ants and being both tired and having to leave early we did not disturb the receptionist as did not want to have to move our belongings again. Not a happy stay this time!
Lack of organisation between Hotel.com and First C
There is some lack of communications between Expedia and First Class. We had to stand over 1hour in reception as the receptionist couldn’t get payment from Expedia. Although it had nothing to do with us but we had to wait until it was resolved….Not good enough at 1.30am….

Awful check in
The check in was abysmal. We arrived very late and although we had paid, the receptionist wouldn’t let us go to our room before he could charge the room to some card number on his system which unfortunately didn’t work. The card was registered to Expedia on his system but he kept saying that it was our card not working. Very Kafkaesque…. After an hour(!!!!) the system finally worked and we could go to bed, this was a dreadful experience… we pay in advance so to make things easy.
