"The Avista Resort is a prime location if one is traveling to North Myrtle Beach. The on-site pool, hot tub, bar, restaurant, and fitness center make it an all inclusive destination. The staff are friendly and helpful. Beach access is from the pool deck and the covered parking garage is directly across the street. Negatives.. the room I reserved, a King Suite-Ocean View, did not match the photos in the listing. The listing photos showed a layout with both the master bedroom and living room having access to the balcony via their own sliding glass doors. The actual room I was assigned only had a balcony off the living room. Worse, the ONLY bathroom in the unit was inside the master bedroom. Therefore, guests sleeping elsewhere had to enter the master bedroom at night to use the restroom. This was very inconvenient. Further, the room itself was dated. Renovations were half completed with ceiling paint on the walls and wall paint on the ceilings. Overall, it was a good trip. However, for what I paid, I would have preferred to have the actual room layout I reserved."

"Great location and friendly staff, however, never a response from the hotel's chatting option, tried a few times, no response. The biggest thing is to make sure you get one of the handful of rooms that actually have a balcony that fits a chair! Most are standing room only overlooking the beach. It is in the hotel's info somewhere, but we missed it and was very surprised to have a beach hotel with no way to sit on the balcony :("
