"Drove past the Joshua Tree Retreat Center sign for years and had no idea how wonderful it is on that property. First time staying in the Bungalows and can’t wait to come back again. Lovely modern room, great outdoor area and miles of great hikes. Everyone who works there, cafe, book store, really nice and helpful. Saturday morning swap meet was nice as well. The Vortex is real!"

"The staff was helpful, the room was clean, water was hot in the morning, all these are good things. However we arrived late from travel for a Sunday at check in about 4 PM and the in house restaurant apparently is closed on Sunday's and Mondays, so we were out of luck with that regard. Initially told that the next door property had a coffee shop but it was closed also. We didn't use pool or hot tub only because we were passing through, however it looked clean and in good shape. The bed was OK, the AC slightly noisy, so we turned it off. Overall Better than some, not as Good as others, but considering the price we're giving others the choice to decide on their own. Parking and security was Good and FREE."

"Clean, spacious room with a comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. Parking was right out front for our mid-week stay. A convenient location for the west entrance to Joshua Tree and a visit to Pioneertown for dinner. A good price for what we received. Highly recommend."

"Basic. Was just a place to crash but it was loud. We could hear everything in the hall and other rooms. There was a hair on the sink counter and it didn’t look like from a head. That always grosses me out. The bed was comfortable at least."
