We got there early going to leave our bags while we explored and didn't know how this would work with no reception. But the virtual receptionist was brilliant, spoke to a real person who checked us in and even got us in our room early. Same food experience when checking out and leaving luggage at the end of our stay. Hotel room was nice and comfortable. Great location. "

"A great location but looked to be under renovations where our room was located. Van der Valk are wonderful hotels in general."

"We disliked the check-in procedure without an actual reception area. It was very awkward and difficult to communicate with management. The apartment was charming but some improvements could be made: replace the burner with a microwave; provide some towels or paper towels to dry dishes. On the Expedia site it specifically said that both bathrobes and laundry facilities were provided but this was not the case. The bed room was nice and cozy with a very comfortable bed and great pillows. The heater worked very well which we really appreciated given the inclement weather we experienced. A second railing on the very challenging staircase could provide additional safety."
