Fantastic property. Loved the cabins. Staff super friendly and helpful. Loads of activities which are well organised and fun.
Inclusive dinner option is well done and caters for many diets. Given it is a remote location, this is great!
Staying at Snow Hotel was a magiacal experience. The Gamme Cabins were cozy and inviting, the staff were incredibly friendly, we loved petting the huskys, and we were fortunate to see the Northern Lights close to the hotel. The Sami experience was especially meaningful. We hope to come back!
Setting - beautiful!
Hotel layout - magical and functional. It is quick to walk around and get from place to place.
Accommodation - the cabin was comfortable, clean and snug. The only niggle was the heating - there were no instructions (took a while to find all the thermostats!), and the default is set way too high for sleeping.
Excursions - great fun and very friendly guides.
Gabba cabin - quaint and charming setting for lunch.
Restaurant - let the whole experience down, and because our stay was half board, our overall stay felt overpriced. Dinner starts at 7pm, and the staff in the restaurant have a process to serve dinner, table by table, and even though we stressed to multiple staff members that we had excursions at 9pm (2 nights in a row), we still were not served our dinner as a priority. We left without getting dessert. We noticed there were other couples and families who missed dessert as well. Hotel guests with excursions should have priority, but don't.
One other issue: the food choice is a set 3 course meal, which posed challenges to us as pescatarians and for my wife who suffers from nut and shellfish allergies - the hotel were informed in advance, but seemed to leave the food preparation/choice to the last minute.
The hotel itself is not far from Kirkenes (±15mins), so if you would like to avoid the stress of minimal food choices and slow service, get a taxi into town, eat when you want to, and get back in plenty of time for the excursions.
Everything about Gamme Cabins/Snowhotel was superb. The rooms were clean, cozy, and warm. The breakfasts were plentiful, and the 3-course dinners had a good variety. The location stunning, and there were lots of activities to choose from.
The staff here are amazing and extremely friendly & helpful.
The restaurant you simply have to try out, the best food we’ve had for ages, great flavours and mixings. Try the chocolate brownie if possible.
The cottage was very comfortable and as we were leaving early the restaurant was able to prepare us a pack up which was really appreciated.
We also liked the dog-yard and look forward to coming back, hopefully with a bit more time next visit.
Many thanks
Our Gamme cabin stay was incredible, dog sledding was a true experience (although a bit pricey) the dinner in the restaurant was Michelin star caliber. Just unreal. The entire team seemed to go above and beyond the call of duty in all respects but especially Nadia in the restaurant. 5/5 stars!
Room is big and nice. Especially the washroom, unique design. Environment is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. It’d be much convenient if they can allow guest car to park outside reception area.
We had an awesome stay at this outstanding resort. It’s a magical snowy wonderland with so many activities on offer. Our cabin was extremely comfortable, the beds especially so. Very warm and cozy accommodation. The food was delicious and good value for money. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful the staff are - everyone went above and beyond to make our stay one to remember. My husband took ill and had to go to hospital and everyone at the Snow Hotel went above and beyond to help us through what was a scary time. We would highly recommend the Snow Hotel and when we come back, we hope to book a night in the actual Snow Hotel when it reopens in December and is open all year round. Incredible place, and Kirkenes is a lovely
Village.
All fantastic.Wonderfully friendly staff. Cabin lovely with deck where could nip in and out to check for northern lights as didnt do tour. Cabins face slightly different directions and lights move too. Then walked a little past restaurant to see them better with less light. Lucky to see good show. Plenty of snow already so did husky ride on shortened track. Loved it. They do howl on occasion at night but it didnt bother us.
Nice food and theres a cosy sitting area in restaurant on both levels. Transfers are per person so at present is cheaper to get a (Prebooked at aiport) taxi unless included from hurtigruten. Make sure taxi will drive right up to the restaurant to check in if arriving late after reception building closes. Or get an eve phone no from hotel and someone can get bags for you. Pre arrange. Would love to go back!
en été aussi c'est super! Les chiens sont tous plus calins les uns que les autres, un régal, 180 chiens...1h30 pour faire une caresse à chacun des joyeux demandeurs.
