"I am writing to express concern regarding the treatment my family received from staff during our recent stay. I want to emphasize that the amenities and condition of the property were excellent; the issue lies solely with staff interactions. We were staying because my 18‑month‑old daughter was undergoing major surgery at Riley Children’s Hospital. The room was for my mother and my 12‑year‑old daughter so they could travel easily during her recovery. Our stay needed to be extended due to complications, and although I understood availability was limited, the communication and attitude from staff—particularly Norma—were unnecessarily dismissive. Despite following instructions given at check‑in, my mother was told, “You should have booked it last night,” and was given no apology or alternatives. She was instructed to pack and check out, even though we had been there all week. Later, when I booked additional nights, my mother was nearly turned away again, despite my notifying the property and understanding the authorization process. She left in tears. We were not asking for exceptions—only empathy during a difficult medical situation. Families staying near a children’s hospital often face heavy circumstances, and compassion matters. I had planned to make your property my first choice for future hospital trips, but the treatment my 67‑year‑old disabled mother received has caused me to reconsider. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for others in similar state."
