"Older hotel that could use updating. Staff were lovely. However, the mattress was not only too soft ( poor back support), but uneven/lumpy. Pillows were hard and lumpy. Restaurant staff were very nice. The food…not so much."

"BE CAREFUL! What I will say is that the woman working the desk that night when we checked in was lovely. That is a positive. However the issues started when we were asked for an additional deposit on top of what we had already paid online. During our check in process a very sketchy man and woman were trying to get into the building. SURPRISE they were our neighbours. "Great hotel! Rooms were good size, large bathroom also. Beds extremely comfortable. Everything looked recently renovated. Room had mini fridge, microwave, mini safe, blow dryer, everything you could need. Daily breakfast was good. We were there for 5 days so it was repetitive but really can’t complain. I appreciated that the attendants managed the hot food, kept everything sanitary and stocked. They did not skimp on the portions. Had 24/7 coffee, tea and hot chocolate, which was a welcome...

"It was OK. The hotel is quite dated. And even though it’s on a lake, there’s no way to walk around the lake. And the first day we were there it was a beautiful morning. We wanted to sit on the patio to have our breakfast and it was closed for no reason at all. Very disappointing. But it was nice to have a view of the lake to just relax and unwind after a busy day or at the beginning of the day with a cup of coffee"

"The hotel is very nice. Easy access using the door codes. Rooms are very modern and lots of space. Like others have mentioned, the bed isn't the easiest to get in and out of but I did find it cozy as I don't have any mobility issues. Some small shelves on the wall next to the bed/outlet area would be nice for laying your phone, watch, etc. Others have mentioned the noise. I made an effort to be quiet as I could hear others in their rooms and using the stairs. There was a white noise...

"Hotel is well situated at the harbour front, with numerous restaurants nearby. It’s within walking distance to downtown Halifax and the citadel. The staff members are courteous and helpful. The rooms are well appointed."

Treated with indifference and a server opened the front door, she saw my reaction and left both doors propped open anyways. It was a cold rainy day.
