Such an amazing experience. We were in the area for only a short stay- but the villa was so comfortable, elegant, and personalized. We were lucky to be there when the chef was in, and served homemade dinner right outside of our room on the common area. Amazing sea view with the balcony in our room. Brought pizza back at night to eat on our balcony and the enjoy some wine. Consider staying here!! You will not regret it.

We had the Portofino room, which featured a gorgeous sea view. The entire villa is phenomenal, each room is a work of art, with vaulted ceilings and original artwork. Breakfast was a delight, with fresh fruit and veggies, perfect portions and honey from the property. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful during the stay. I would recommend Villa Gelsomino in a heartbeat.

I am not being dramatic when I say this is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed! Everything was magical. Pick the Portofino suite if you can, the balcony is honestly unbelievable. Location, rooms, atmosphere all amazinggg.

This hotel was an incredible find!! The location was very easy to walk to from the train station **** if you are walking, MAKE SURE to take the narrow stairs up and over the railroad tracks *** Once you're there, you will be overwhelmed with the beauty and splendor of the rooms as well as the overlooking views of the harbor. I had an incredible stay at this lovely beautifully restored Villa. Great location with an easy walk to the seaside promenade, restaurants, shopping and the train station. From the train station you can catch the bus to Portofino. The hosts are gracious, warm and friendly. Enjoy a lovely breakfast on the Villa’s patio overlooking the sea and harbor.

Just the best. Would definitely stay here again. Great location, great view, great staff, great breakfast!..couldnt have been better. One tip: if you arrive at the train station with a roller bag, dont take the stairs. Take a right on the road out of the train station and head up the hill on the road. The stairs are a lot if you are carrying a bag.

Historical charm

This is a unique hotel – a villa built by a wealthy family in the late 19th century, with its historical charm preserved down to the finest detail. We had a room with a balcony and a stunning view of the Santa Margherita. But it’s important to understand that this is not a five-star hotel in terms of the service typically associated with that rating. For example, there is an extra charge of €20 for check-ins after 7:30 PM, and €50 for check-ins between 9 and 11 PM. Because there is no 24-hour service. It’s also apparently essential to fill out a form the day before specifying your breakfast preferences—even for the limited basic option—which we failed to do. This was not appreciated. The reason given is to reduce food waste, though it comes across as greenwashing. It’s also worth noting that trains pass relatively close by, which might be an issue for light sleepers. Personally, we didn’t find it particularly disturbing.

Beautiful, romantic stay

We loved our stay at Villa Gelsomino! The property was absolutely gorgeous from the floor tiles to the ceilings. The location was very convenient and a quick walk to the city center. Views were breathtaking. Breakfast was delicious and it was nice to have fresh, made to order food versus the typical breakfast buffet at most other hotels. All staff members were so nice and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. Highly recommend!
