"You get what you pay for. This was a budget hotel for us backpacking around Malaysia. It had what we needed. The air con remote didn’t work but the kind start replaced it for us. We got a room clean aswell after the first night. The staff are lovely. Only downside was cockroaches coming up the toilet drain but not sure how this could be prevented maybe a stopper at the top of the drain? We got rid of them with room bug spray."

What really stood out was the warm, attentive, and informative staff who made everything so easy and welcoming. I also absolutely loved the pool, perfect for unwinding after a day out. "The hotel is very dated and could do with a spruce up. However, the room was a good space, with a comfortable bed, kettle and fridge. There was a large supermarket behind and it was 20 minutes walk into Sandakan shops."

"Just needed an inexpensive Room for one night. This hotel fit the bill but it is an older property in a tropical place. When I turned the ab on (which I was tja kick for) a rather large Cockroach came flying out of the vent. I take these things in stride but others may not."

"The London Hotel is pleasant with friendly staff, close to the centre of the town and its amenities. The shower was excellent and bed comfortable. The rooms were quiet so a good nigt's sleep is assured. It has no lift so if you have mobility problems be aware there are stairs to climb to the rooms."
