"Cedar Falls is a surprisingly robust community and the Blackhawk Hotel is a hidden gem! The staff is engaging and generous and go the extra mile to make sure you’re taken care of and heard. This is an historic inn, so the premises are burnished with years of use, which I think just adds to its charm. Main Street is dotted with several unique eating, drinking and shopping establishments and our nightcap at the Bar Winslow in the hotel was the perfect spot for our too-short stay in Cedar Falls."

"Our meet and greet was great! And the place is a very nice looking Mansion. But entering the room it was hot to both of us. We started the small window AC in the living room and the vented stand along AC in the bedroom. It took quite a while to cool off. We decided to take a Jacuzzi bath and not only did it not work, we made ourselves even more hot. I went to shave and the bathroom sink is " clogged" not just slowly draining as I could run hot water very long before it was full. Unfortunately...

"It was quiet, but; Bed was bad. One little trash can by the fridge. TV had to be manually shut off/on and adjust volume. Replaced batteries in remote Friday night then dropped it off early Saturday explaining what was needed. They had all day to rectify, but waited until we came back late afternoon. Told they didn’t have a different remote so just deal with it. Yes, I am capable of getting out of bed to adjust volume, but not when I’m paying for it. Asked for adjustment to charge. "Basics were missing such as coffee maker, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner. Only three small pillows on a king bed. Staff was very friendly. Property is worn and is needing hard good updates."
