Absolutely amazing, from the location, service to the comfort of the bed our stay was perfect. We attended a wedding which again was perfect from beginning to end. Beautiful hotel in equally beautiful surroundings.

Can highly recommend

A really good 5 star establishment. I can highly recommend. The only down side for me is at just over 300 quid per night breakfast should be included and the rooms should have air con as a given. But still a great place and I would highly recommend for a romantic 2 night break.

The whole estate is well looked after and although it was full it didn't feel crowded. The only thing that spoilt it for us was the price of drinks and although friendly the reception staff knew nothing about the local area.

Great location but a bit dark!

Overall a great weekend. It was sometimes quite difficult to find your way around, especially in the dark with minimal lighting outside and difficult to read signage. Lovely wooded walks and bikes available.

Had a wonderful two night stay. Beautiful room and bathroom. Super comfortable bed. Reported an issue with tap in bath and bathroom door. It was fixed on our return from day out. Loved food in Coach House and the Forge. Staff friends and helpful.

This hotel seems geared for weddings and events. While it has potential to be a very nice hotel, it lacks refinement. (Bathtub in the bedroom?). Furthermore, we had to carry our heavy bags from far away as there was no one to help with transport from the parking area and across the grounds upstairs to our room.

Lovely Peaceful and Relaxing Venue

We stayed at Middleton Lodge for our son's wedding at the venue. The room was very good with a lovely large comfortable bed and spacious ensuite shower room. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient and they made the wedding all go to plan. The venue has lovely spacious gardens making it very relaxing. The only criticism I have is that it states the room fee includes breakfast at £12 but it is a continental breakfast. If you want the full English you have to pay £15 each for it. We thought that we would be paying the difference of £3.00 each, but that isn't the case.

A bit disappointed

Unfortunately we didn’t get a warm welcome - it was all a bit perfunctory. Pointed in the direction of our room up some very narrow steep stone steps had we had a disability or injury we wouldn’t have been able to get to it, I feel we should have been warned about the access before hand. We chose not to eat on site so I cant comment about that. Lovely room nicely furnished, shower wasn’t exactly sparkling I assume cleaning glass was overlooked. Minor irritation was the lack of places to plug in the coffee machine or kettle which had been stored in a cupboard. Nicely kept grounds and we did a lovely walk round the estate that was recommended, wellies to borrow at reception if you havent brought which was a nice touch Same perfunctory attitude at reception when we left. No smiles. Compared unfavourably with a hotel the previous night in Richmond.

My partner and I had a fantastic and relaxing stay recently. We were upgraded and given a bottle of prosecco to celebrate my partner's birthday which was a lovely touch. The interior design and landscaping are gorgous, very tastefully done and the spa treatment rooms were lovely too. Didn't want to leave but left feeling very refreshed and zen. If we were being extra critical, the food in the coach house restaurant was slightly disappointing given the standard of everything else and was a shame the other restaurant at the Forge was closed. They're obviously doing some work by the main house and behind the Dairy so we could hear a bit of drilling and banging but for the most part weren't disturbed by the noise. Overall it was an amazing visit and can't wait to stay again :)

Stunning place. Can’t wait to go back

Beautiful place. Our room was huge with its own log fire and roll top bath. The food in the Coach House was exceptional. We absolutely loved it and will definitely be back!

Overall absolutely AMAZING , FOOD AMAZING, SERVICE AMAZING , however check in POOR . We travelled two hours to hotel with 3 month old baby and asked if could check in little earlier than 3pm as we were at a wedding at 1 so unfortunately had to get chsnged in the disabled toilets which was not great .

Fabulous location. Staff were brilliant. Room comfy and so nice. Bathroom immaculately cleaned and beautiful. Parking had 2x 7kw EV points free to charge.

Fabulous place to stay. Our room was really comfortable and luxurious. The Estate is stunning and meals at the Courtyard restaurant delicious. Highly recommended if you want to get away from it all and take a break in amazing countryside.

The ‘everything’ trip

My wife and I booked this trip having missed out on a babymoon when she was pregnant and we were so well looked after even with the baby. We stayed in a garden room which was luxurious and had everything you would expect from this level of hotel. Perhaps some more substantial snacks rather than the basic tea and coffee facilities would have been a nice touch but no big deal. We ate in the restaurant both nights which we both thoroughly enjoyed (although it was a bit fussy for me - just my tastes!). We also both had spa treatments which were great. The grounds are spectacularly beautiful, especially the kitchen garden. They were prepping for a wedding while we were there which I can only imagine must have been magical. My wife would definitely stay again but she’s the one with expensive taste so there you go! Highly recommended for a special occasion.

wonderful hotel in Yorkshire. Food was delicious!

Beautiful place to stay. Really relaxing and the food was excellent. We ate in the coach house for dinner and lunch. I had a massage which was lovely. Nice relaxing and warm treatment room. The woodland walk is great as well, we even managed with a pram. A few things would make this place better but we had a lovely stay.
