Tutto gradevole, salvo la stanza che ci è stata assegnata la n. 26 , sostanzialmente quella che un tempo ospitava la servitù, angusta e decentrata. Saremmo ritornati molto volentieri, ma dopo questa esperienza sceglieremo altre alternative in loco.

The outside of the villa is really beautiful with outstanding views. Swimming pool need some attention and was not that clean. Service could be better for a 4 star hotel as well. Dinner was good. The hotel has a lot of potential due the villa itself and the location but really needs an upgrade to stay on a 4 star level.

The room we stayed was much hotter than we expected. Also, it was very uncomfortable to take shower because they didn't have a shower curtain. However, the outdoor view was breathtaking.

Spectacular location in Tuscany
We had stayed at Villa Pittiana before, many years ago, and wanted to return to this beautiful part of Italy and what we remembered as a lovely hotel. We were allocated to the 'Tower Suite' which was a nice spacious room with a great view over the valley at the side of the hotel, a bit spartan, but at the top of a steep flight of about 20 stairs, which was a bit daunting. It should have done with more than one comfortable chair in a 'suite' where there was plenty of space. We enjoyed a nice dinner but the service was a bit slow and at breakfast tables were left uncleared, so we had to lay our own table! The staff seemed to have their minds on other matters and the boiled eggs ran out. When we stayed some years ago, dining was available on the lawn outside the dining room but that was no longer available, which was disappointing. We got the impression that the hotel had been allowed to get a bit run down and shabby. The gardens were unkempt which is a pity in such a beautiful place. There was a nice pool but we did not have time to try it.

Spettacolare Residenza d'epoca vicino Firenze
Villa Pitiana, con la sua maestosa struttura comprendente un giardino (con piscina) e un parco immenso, è una Residenza d'epoca che svetta in posizione panoramica su un posto unico e inimitabile, immerso nelle campagne toscane, tra cultura e storia, dove il tempo sembra fermarsi. Certo, per godere appieno della qualità della struttura è preferibile soggiornare nelle stanze con vista sulla piscina e sulle colline toscane, ma anche le camere con vista sul cortile interno o sul parco sono comode e pulite. Essendo una residenza d'epoca ha mobilio e strutture dal gusto antico, ma gli scricchiolii del legno sono certamente compensati dall'atmosfera magica del complesso storico. Ottimo servizio alla reception, con un personale molto disponibile e accogliente! Buona prima colazione e servizi in camera, ristorante con portate molto eleganti e raffinate. Il servizio bar (con ottima selezione di vini e birre artigianali) funziona praticamente h24 e hanno anche Sky per vedere le partite nei fine settimana. Relax assicurato, consigliato anche alle famiglie. Unico consiglio: essendo immerso nel verde, è consigliabile portare con sé repellenti anti-zanzare e fare leggermente attenzione alle api che si aggirano intorno alla piscina (sono attratte dai fiori e dall'acqua, non dagli ospiti, quindi si può comunque stare tranquilli!)

Un fascino senza tempo
Questa villa ha un fascino che solo le dimore storiche sanno dare. Le camere quadruple sono veramente spaziose e adatte per chi ha figli adolescenti. Il personale è preparato ed efficiente.

Faded beauty but warm welcome
Wonderful friendly helpful staff but nowhere near enough of them. Would love to see this incredible grand house brought back to glory. It needs a little love. 1st few days frustrated by rarity of a barman broken air conditioner and kids camp beds. But the staff did everything they could for us always with enthusiasm. By day 10 we didn't want to leave. It's peaceful the grounds are stunning and there's plenty of beautiful quiet corners to take a book

Vi bodde tre nätter och kan absolut tänka oss att komma tillbaka. Mycket vackra omgivningar och ett hotell i gammal stil som är moderniserat i lagom omfattning med den gamla charmen bibehållen.

Quiet Holiday in the countryside
The room was quite spacious for a family of four. We particularly enjoyed the high ceiling. It was well kept and clean. The shower was somewhat cramped though. We had fun playing table tennis on the grounds and enjoying the seasonal pool. Breakfast was enjoyable as it offered a lot of variety.

Während unseres Aufenthalts wurde eine Hochzeit organisiert abgehalten, die "normalen" Gäste mussten hinten anstehen, 10 Min auf einen Kaffee beim Frühstück zu warten war noch das geringste. WLAN nur in der Hotelhalle, selbst dort nur schwach und stockend. Kein 4 Sterne Haus

Excellent Villa in the Tuscany countryside
Everything was awesome (we got a nice upgrade for our Anniversary). Excellent old time Villa with the Renaissance feel that we wanted. Absolutely beautiful and the staff was great - especially Thomas. If you have a rental car there are plenty of things to do within a 2 hour drive (we went to Pisa and San Gimignano). The food was awesome and the wait staff was great (even though the hotel was very full). We will definitely come back and wished we would have spent our entire trip at this location.

Great family room, beautiful view!
This was our first time here and in the Tuscany region. Having moved here from North America we are somewhat challenged finding hotels that can accommodate a family. This place was great for families. We had a great time during the first week of May. Not warm enough for the pool yet (closed). Staff was very helpful and attentive. Food at the hotel was also very good for dinner and also typical Italian breakfast buffet. There is a ping pong table outside that the kids played with but the paddles needed replacing and table was not level, but still fun for our little ones. The family room was a delight (large bed upstairs and two single beds downstairs in a separate bedroom). We would come back again to see what it is like during the summer months and for the kids to enjoy the pool. The view from our room was amazing, overlooking the hill and pool.

E' la seconda volta che soggiorno in questo hotel, ma questa volta abbiamo avuto una camera sporca, piena di polvere, con la tappezzeria usurata. La colazione abbastanza misera e con cose confezionata di bassissimo livello, albergo da considerare 2 stelle

Das Haus ist ein Prunkstück. Wir wurden mit einer Junior-Suite überrascht mit wunderbarem Balkon und etwas angestaubtem Mobiliar. Das sehr grosse Bett lag über eine Treppe erreichbar auf einer Galerie. Sympathisch! - aber nur so lange als niemand im Zimmer darüber war. Leider hörte man sämtliche Gespräche etc. Trotzdem ist das Haus einen Aufenthalt wert und besonders eine der Vorspeisen - Panzarella - war überragend. Ansonsten das Essen nicht überwältigend. Die ganze Anlage mit sehr alten Teilen und der Garten mit wunderbaren Bäumen und einem tollen Pool waren sehr schön.

Villa molto bella, anche se un po' trascurata
Il rapporto qualità/prezzo di questa struttura è veramente ottimo. Una villa antica con un grande fascino, bello il parco e ottima la posizione. Camere grandissime (noi avevamo una camera soppalcata, soggiorno, cucinino e cameretta sebbene fossimo solo in due....). Personale estremamente cortese. Lati negativi: alcuni mobili più che antichi erano vecchi ed in condizioni non buone, pulizia della zona giorno non all'altezza di un 4 stelle (salverei la signora delle pulizie x il fatto che non è facile pulire finestre e mobili molto vecchi e pavimenti così grandi in cotto antico o legno....), non eccezionale la colazione. In sostanza: una nobile un po' decaduta ma sempre dal grande fascino....

Personalet var meget hjælpsomme. Det eneste vi synes ikke var på en rimelig niveau var (aftens)maden. Kvaliteten reflektere ikke det man normalt kan få i Toscana; smag og kvaliteten var simpelthen for skuffende. Det er bedre at køre til en nærliggende restaurant.

a nice visit in Tuscany
It is a unique experience to stay in Villa Pitiana. It is like staying in a museum. The villa is alittle run down and the pool needs to be cleaned. The food is excellent. The rooms are big but warm in the summer time. Our rooms had no air conditioning.

Beautiful Views
The staff was wonderfully accomodating when we had an issue stemming from 2 different buildings. Main hotel is gorgeous and the views are stunning. They have a 4 room 'guest house' that is used for 'overflow' I suspect. The hotel staff reacted accordingly when we voiced our concerns and made our stay very enjoyable.

Wonderful old building in a superb location. Unfortunately the internet was very very slow. Lovely meals but the bar service left a bit to be desired

Spectacular experience
This is exactly what you hope for when you visit Italy... a gorgeous villa, situated in a breathtaking town in the hills of Tuscany. We had to continually pinch ourselves throughout the stay to make sure we weren't dreaming. The staff is very warm and welcoming (and speak enough English to answer any questions you have). The breakfast is fabulous, in an elegant dining room with the windows wide open, a gentle breeze and the songs of birds greeting you each morning (and don't get me started on the chocolate croissants which were beyond delicious).There is WiFi and a computer in the lobby, the only evidence of the 21st century in this otherwise authentic 11th century villa. The grounds are spectacular and offer endless opportunity for meandering. An all around perfect vacation choice for anyone lucky enough to visit Italy.

Upgraded room was superb
Our upgraded room in the second floor was fantastic. It is a half-self service hotel. Relaxed pool area. Good food. Poor wifi.

Spectacular villa in the Tuscany hills.
A beautiful villa steeped in history. Staff were more than helpful and friendly. Spectacular views. A long weekend was not enough to appreciate all the sights but we managed to fit in Florence and Arezzo. If travelling by train be aware that the nearest station to the villa is 4km away so hire a car! Or walk up the hills as we did - takes 1hr 15 mins but worth it for the views.

La villa è molto caratteristica con arredi adeguati allo stile antico dell'ambiente dove comunque sono evidenti i lavori fatti per garantire i servizi ai clienti, ad es. il bagno sembrava nuovissimo ed in stile moderno. Climatizzatore ok. Peccato la mancanza del wifi in camera ma c'è negli enormi ambienti comuni. Bel parco con piscina

Nice place to stay
Overall good experience, though internet was very slow and unstable, and only in the lobby. Also difficulty taking a pleasing shower as the hot water was not stable. Hotel is old (somewhat too old) but the surrounding is beautiful and relaxing.

Beautiful hotel
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful and feels like staying in a castle. The view is breathtaking, but be careful when making reservations. Only superior rooms and up have air conditioning. Luckily our stay was in September and the nights were cool enough, but it could be uncomfortable during the warmer months. Also be sure to have euros on hand because there is nowhere to exchange money. The banks won't do it, and the money exchangers in Florence will charge you a 20 percent fee that they don't include when they quote you an exchange rate. Read all the small print! Otherwise, our stay was lovely. The food at the hotel was excellent, and they sell a local olive oil that is outstanding!

Room comfort
The room we had was very large and actually had 2 bedrooms with the main bed in a loft. But the bathroom was very small and any one of any size would not fit in the shower

Nice experience
We decided on the Pitiana from the location in Tuscany. From here we visited Florence, Pisa,Voleterra, and all the surrounding areas. True, the Pitiana was off the trail...but well worth the trip. It was an old monistary/farm transformed into a fantastic hotel. Breakfast was the same everyday (4) but substantial enough to get you started daily. The view off the loby is just unbeatable. If you like old restored homes with extremly large rooms then take the extra time and effort and drive to the Pitiana.
