My wife and I spent three relaxing days at Umadewi Surf, the staff could not do enough for you. We firstly booked a garden view but upgraded to an ocean view on the second and third night. The upgrade went without any problems and they were very accommodating to our needs. The ocean view suite was very spacious and the bathroom was very modern.

Loved the spacious grounds and trees. Pool and area very nice BUT go to the pool before 8 and claim your chair umbrella otherwise U miss out until sunset! Breakfast choices all were awesome. Better and Better

What a wonderful surprise the new suites at Umadewi were. Having stayed at the Medewi Beach Cottages a few years ago, the changes in the new rooms are outstanding. Amazing views over the surf point with the water being literally metres away at high tide. They are new, luxurious and still have the wonderful service that this property is famous for. The WiFi is rather sad in the rooms. All of the staff are so warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is good and service impeccable at the Umadewi. The new restaurant which is nearing completion will be a wonderful addition to the property and the local area. ABOUT THE LOCAL AREA: Having said that, the local area is all about surfing- which is not a bad thing- but the variety and quality of food at the other restaurants and hotels on the street leave much to be desired. Service at the other properties in the area was very very slow with food not very palatable. In fact at one place the Bintang bottles smelt of rotten fish due to being stored with the day's catch. Imagine having to use the alcohol handwash on your beer bottle! We ended up coming back to the Umadewi for our meals after trying others on the first two nights. Thank you to all the staff at Umadewi, particularly to our rock and roll star waiter! Cheers Bruce and Flick
