"Excellent location!!!!"

"We arrived early in the morning and were able to store our luggage before check in. We did have to pay city tax that wasn't included in the Expedia pre-paid price (just a heads up) but no deposit/ card hold like most American hotels. The hotel & room were exactly as pictured and met our needs. The breakfast was very good. The building is older and seems to be a few buildings joined together, so is not ADA friendly. There was a very small elevator to access our part of the building & once on our floor, to access our room, there were 2 steps up due to a level change. This wasn't a problem for us, just a consideration for other travelers. I had to take a star off for the stay and the cleanliness due to an issue with cigarette smoke coming into our room on multiple days. Unclear if it was coming from staff or other visitors. Unclear if the entire building is meant to be non-smoking, or if just our room was. When we called the front desk the first time we noticed it (and the worst time it happened), they suggested it was coming from the street but we were on the 4th floor & was most noticeable from the bathroom or innermost part of the building. Luckily it seemed to only happen in spurts during the middle of the day & it was warm enough that we could open the window to let the room air out. There were times the room felt stuffy and the temperature controls were completely unresponsive, so our only option was to open the window."

"The hotel staff were all very friendly and accommodating! The location was amazing, we were close to the main sightseeing areas (key if you’re a first time visitor). The hotel itself was very cute and chic, the rooms were comfy and had everything we needed. "

"Excellent breakfast with many options, staff always available for any questions or requests, very comfortable bed and pillows, clean rooms, fast elevators, convenient location, good snacks and drinks in lobby shop. For a similar price, was much better experience than the nearby Ibis hotel."

"The rooms and hotel is clean and updated. Note our bath room was small and no mini-fridge. The staff was friendly and polite. This hotel is a good choice if you just arrived by airplane, direct train connection from Schiphol-Airport. Take the train from the airport (easy) to central Amsterdam station, then 5 minute walk to hotel. Get started exploring Amsterdam Central by foot and canals. Breakfast is standard okay. The bar is okay for a nightcap, not so much of a hangout, however very safe and easy to get to rooms. I would stay again. Note, we were not traveling with you children. I am sure they would be fine, I did not use pools or other activities. Book Anne Frank House 6/8 weeks early for free tickets, also go to the Van Gogh Museum to complete your stay. My spouse and I explored all of Amsterdam Central from here then took Eurostar to Belgium. Note, but your Eurostar tickets early, some departure times may sell out so plan in advance. Save money on Eurostar with more notice, however last minute tickets are not bad. Safe Travels, Cheer!!"

"Dear I am writing to formally raise a serious concern about my recent stay in your hotel. My experience has been extremely disappointing and far below the standard one would expect—especially considering the amount paid for the room. During my stay, I discovered a mouse inside the room. This was not only alarming but completely unacceptable from a hygiene and safety standpoint. A hotel room should be a clean, secure environment, and encountering a rodent raises significant concerns about overall cleanliness and maintenance. I was also traveling with my child, which makes this situation even more concerning. I have no way of knowing what the rodent may have touched or contaminated within the room, and this created additional stress and worry about our health and safety. This situation caused considerable discomfort and distress, and it has significantly impacted my stay. Given the severity of the issue, I do not believe the room met even basic accommodation standards. Considering the circumstances and the high price paid, I am requesting a full refund for my stay. I trust you will treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves and respond promptly with a resolution. Please let me know how you intend to address this issue. "I was shocked to be charged 10 euros per day for internet in the room. There was no mention of this on Expedia. I was not told of this charge until check-out, so there was no option. One concierge was nice and helpful, another we dealt with was not. Her response to our question on how to get to a train station was just take a taxi. Not helpful."

"That the hotel is very well located is absolutely the only positive aspect about it. After one has dragged one’s luggage up a short but inconvenient set of stairs the reality of where one has booked rapidly sets in. A shabby reception area awaits and we were asked to pay upon checking in. I suspect this is because people take one look at their room and wish to leave. There was nowhere secure to store luggage while we waited for the room to be ready; we were told to put it in the pile with several others just off of the reception area. The room was minuscule even by European standards and the in room safe was so small that it was basically worthless. Also, and this might be very important to some people, there’s no individual heating/air con control in the room. All of this for over €300 per night. Can’t urge you strongly enough to stay elsewhere. "
