It's not the greatest area, some parts feel a little sketchy and it's a bit of a drive to get to other areas. However it's not all bad and there are plenty of amenities. Just pick carefully where you go and at what time of day.

While Old North Charleston may not have many sights to explore, venturing just a little farther will lead you to top things to see and do like Firefly Distillery and H.L. Hunley Submarine.

If you're spending some time in Centre Pointe, Charleston Tanger Outlets and North Charleston and American LaFrance Fire Museum are top sights worth seeing.

Though Waylyn may not have many top sights, you can venture to the surrounding area to see attractions like Firefly Distillery and North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center.

While Garco Park may not have many sights to explore, venturing just a little farther will lead you to top things to see and do like Firefly Distillery and Charleston Tanger Outlets.

While Ashley Heights may not have many sights to explore, venturing just a little farther will lead you to top things to see and do like Northwoods Mall and Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark.

If you're looking for some top things to see and do in Deer Park and surrounding area, you can visit Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark and Wannamaker County Park.

The bar was an amazing time with the bartender Marcus. I told him to pick a drink for my birthday. He served me a lavender lemonade and it was divine and totally fit the mood I was in.

Charleston itself is a great place, but because of where the airport hotels are (grouped together off a busy highway), I wouldn't recommend this area for out-of-town / international travellers without a car.
