"I have never left a review for a place that I have stayed. Ever. But our stay at Ostello del Castello in Tirano was so fantastic that a positive review was necessary. The owner, Andrea, ensured our stay was perfect. His family property is a seven centuries old modern renovation. Our room was clean, comfortable and secure. Breakfast was delicious: meat and cheese plates, pasties, yogurt, granola, breads, fruits, coffees and juices. The location is an 8 minute walk from the train station. Plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. This location is perfect as a home base: within an hour you could be at Lake Como or multiple ski areas. You can ride the UNESCO listed Bernina Express to Switzerland right in Tirano. I can't say enough good things about Andrea and Ostello del Castello. Stay here. You won't be disappointed!"

"Room was spotless. Basic in terms of fittings & furnishing but comfortable. Amazing pizzas downstairs. Very accommodating staff, they stayed up late to check us in when our arrival was delayed. Just be aware that not only is the restaurant closed on Monday nights, nobody from the staff is on site at all! We got snacks & wine on our way back from our day out, planning to eat in our room, and we couldn't even get glasses etc as the whole place was locked up when we got back at 8pm (rooms are accessed via a back door). Just need to know & plan for that. Otherwise we had a good stay. Omar kindly gave us a packed breakfast for our early morning departure."
